"We had a far from good experience at this shop. To begin with, the day of my daughters appt,. we drove over an hour to find the employee had gone home early. The owner did call to try to make good & waived the appointment fee. The second time we went back, the clerk spent more time gushing over my daughters friend, than she did helping my daughter. She offered the friend a large discount if she came back & brought more friends when she needs a dress for college graduation. The discount she offered to the friend was larger than the one she gave to my daughter who was the one who was actually there to try on & purchase a dress that day. The shop had only 1 dress in a similar style to the one my daughter told them she was interested in. The clerk did not seem to know a lot about prom dress styles or the manufacturers that their shop worked with. So, After going there to basically just get measured, we did order, the dress she originally found on their website, which is the only reason we shopped there in the first place. We stood uncomfortably around at the door waiting for the clerk to ring us up, while she again chatted with my daughters friend about her EMT classes. After my asking her what we were waiting for, she informed me that we needed to place the order on their website. She said they could not process a credit card or cash order in shop due to the area being high in crime, so we had to place the order online on their website. Once the dress came in, my daughter was informed she could come anytime today to pick up. When we arrived, there were 2 employees in shop. Both of whom were not trained to help us. Now, in their defense, we did not have an appointment, but we were told we could call an hour before, which we did, and no one answered the phone. We drove the hour hoping someone would be in shop when we got there, while calling a few times on the way. Still no answer. We told them we were just there to pick up and make sure it fit. That we had a person at home who would do our alterations. They had to call someone else to come in, because they could not help us. We waited a bit, then they called her again and found the dress, which my daughter tried on. When we said it was good and went to leave, we were asked to wait 10-20 min for the other employee to show up. We waited 20 minutes and she never showed up. Needing to leave, we asked why we were waiting, and were informed that we owed them tax on the dress. Please explain why, if you can only place the order online, why their system is not set up to include the tax on the purchase? If you cannot staff a shop with trained employees, is it our responsibility to sit around and wait over 20 minutes for someone to show up to ring us up for tax on an item that we paid for on your own website? Why do you run business like this, were you hoping to force us into charges for alterations when we picked up? I had zero confidence that anyone that works in that shop would do a good job on alterations after that visit. While my daughter is happy with her dress, I guess I would say, even ecstatic with it, I wish I had paid a higher price to buy the dress from a more responsible business. We would NOT recommend this dress shop to friends. This is the bag we received our $300 dress in! Thank you for ruining our prom dress shopping experience."
