At Infirmary Neurosurgery, we pride ourselves on offering advanced clinical specialties such as complex spine surgery, cervical disc replacements, minimally invasive spine surgery, and fusions. We also address disorders of the pituitary gland and perform surgeries to treat tumors in and around the brain or spinal cord, as well as stereotactic and peripheral nerve surgeries.
Our team is led by two highly qualified neurosurgeons. Dr. Amber S. Gordon, a Vanderbilt University alumna, holds a medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. With a dual residency in general and neurological surgery, Dr. Gordon specializes in brain, spine, and peripheral nerve disorders.
Dr. Nidal Bassam Omar, a distinguished graduate of the University of South Alabama, earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Dr. Omar has received numerous accolades for his research and contributions to neurosurgery and has co-authored several academic textbook chapters.
