"She was my endocrinologist 33 years ago when I lived in Georgia. She was fantastic"
"What a rude staff in this office. I have been calling to get an appointment for my mother. First not polite at all, approaching was very rude and they said within a referral we have to wait a week to see if the Doctor wants to see the patient. Are you serious?"
"Sherry and her nurse Maria have been my primary care folks since forever. And several of my pals have become their patients, too. I cannot speak highly enough of the quality of care I and my friends have received over the years. I am always heard, and my issues have been resolved with the best knowledge available. The whole practice totally ROCKS. I cannot recommend them highly enough!"
"Dr. Thacker may be great but I'll never know since I cannot get past her office staff. I called to see if Dr. Thacker was seeing new patients and the person answering the phone is by far the most rude person I have spoken to in a clinical setting especially when they the first contact for a new patient and their demeanor gives a less than stellar first impression for what sort of care and attention you will receive from the practice. This person talked over me, wouldn't let me finish a sentence, had an attitude, and could not be bothered to be helpful or kind when I was trying to establish care with a new endocrinologist. If you call for an appointment with Dr. Thacker, you will be told you need a referral and recent labs even if your insurance doesn't require it and that the office will call you to set up an appointment once they have received your referral and labs. My primary care doctor wrote a referral and I waited 2 weeks for a response. I called back to check on the status of this referral to see if I could set up an appointment to establish care. I again encountered the same gruff and rude front desk person who transferred me to Dr. Thacker's assistants voicemail. I left a voicemail asking for the status of the referral and was encouraged because I got a prompt call back. However, the person I spoke with today (who thankfully was nicer) informed me that Dr. Thacker's waiting list is extensive and it is very unlikely I will be able to establish care. Also, they claim they never received the referral, however, I can see in my PCP's patient portal that the referral was sent over 2 weeks ago. My primary care doctor also confirmed that the referral was sent over 2 weeks ago. The person at the front desk should have told me when I first called to set up a new patient appointment that Dr. Thacker was not seeing new patients due to her extensive waiting list instead of being rude and ultimately wasting my time. Also, it's fine to have office policies such as requiring a referral and up to date labs, however, it's not okay to be dishonest claiming not to have received records when there is an obvious paper trail or not being truthful about a providers availability. Atlanta is one of the most difficult places to find a competent and caring endocrinologist. But I'm going to look elsewhere since the practice has proven to be uncaring and dishonest. If I were you, I'd avoid this practice too."
"I tried multiple times to schedule with Dr. Thacker. I couldn't get past the front office staff. They wouldn't give me any information as far as scheduling until they received a referral from my PCP so immediately I arranged for that to be sent. When i called them back to schedule after the referral was sent they STILL wouldn't give me any information, they told me I'd have to talk to the nurse and transferred me where I had to leave a message. That was on a Monday morning. By Friday I STILL had not heard from this office so I called them again. They said they had not received the referral so I asked why didnt your office call me to let me know? Its been 5 days. Response? They could care less!!!! Dont waste your time with this doctor."
