"I went to this exact ER 2 years ago when I broke my foot and I was given amazing care. I went to the ER yesterday for severe abdominal pain and the medicine the doctor perscribed me isn't working at all. I don't even remember the doctor's name but my Grandfather had to drive an hour today to get the slip for the perscription because that doctor never gave it to me when I was discharged. If I ever have to go to the ER again I'm definitely going to be a little apprehensive about going to this specific one. I am very disappointed and irritated with my visit this time around. I originally was only going to give this review 2 stars but with the care I received for my broken foot I'll give it 3 and the one nurse who I had is a Marine vet so I got to show respect to the military veterans."
"Front desk at ER (BB) was her name she told me and was as rude as I’ve ever seen. I love the doctors there but they could do better hiring front office staff. When someone goes to the ER it’s not because they want to be there unfortunately. Lee Health could use this review as a training opportunity when hiring people like this lady."
"What a great experience !!! Nice nurses and fast getting me in . The hospital was super clean and the staff was beyond amazing . Dr James S Gostigian was a life saver . I suffer from seizures and he helped me so much in every way today i am so grateful that he was my Doctor today . Will definitely be returning and i highly recommend"
"I brought my daughter here yesterday because she cut her head open. After the triage, when they removed the bandage they brought her right back to a room. The nurse and PA were so kind and calmed her. She was so afraid of getting stitches. They assured her that she wouldn’t feel a thing and that she wouldn’t even have to get a shot to numb it. They put some strong lidocaine on it for 20 minutes then did the sutures. It was a pleasant experience for an ER visit for sure."
"I need to start off by saying that I don't think they even deserve one star. The level of care (or lack of it) in conjunction with their horribly rude behavior and total incompetence has left a lasting impression. I brought my daughter in at 6pm on a Friday night with a complication from having her wisdom teeth taken out two days prior. She was gushing blood. Not a single person offered gauze, towels, even a garbage can to bleed into. They flat out said "If it was a cut on her arm, it would be different, but it's in your mouth". I don't care WHERE she's bleeding from, give her something so she doesn't have to swallow it! We were in the waiting room for about 3 hours before being taken back to a room. When we finally got to a room, we were quickly greeted by registration who was quick to get our insurance information and collect our co-pay. After taking my money, another nurse came in and asked obvious questions ("Are you in pain? What level pain are you in? Are you still bleeding?). She assured us the provider would be in quickly. I was thankful to be able to give her paper towels from a dispenser next to the sink, but eventually, she used all of those up. She then noticed a green bio hazard bag, that I'm assuming was for vomiting, and she went through two of those...still nobody offering to give her gauze or anything. At this point, she was sobbing because it had been four hours of bleeding and pain, and nobody seemed to care about anything except collecting money and insurance information and admitting that IF it had been a cut on her arm, she would be sutured by now...I popped my head out and looked down the hall and saw a woman sitting at the desk. I said "Excuse me, can we please get some tissues or something?" The voice shot back at me "I'M THE ONLY PROVIDER!". I snapped back at her that I seemed to be the ONLY one caring for her and the ONLY thing I asked for was tissues. Eventually, she found her way into the room and took one look at my daughter and said she didn't know how to handle that and would need to get her supervisor. They both eventually came in and were extremely rude and condescending. The doctor said his course of action would be to remove the clots (which any quick Google search will tell you is the WRONG course of action because it will create a dry socket). When we questioned his plan, he got tremendously defensive for asking what the complications could be or how he would prevent dry socket and told us he isn't a dentist and if we didn't like it we could walk out. We explained that we are trying to remain informed on her care with all possibilities of what could happen if we did what he said he was going to do. Again, he got defensive and told us that this ER is not equipped to handle this situation, he's not a dentist and if we don't like it, then we could leave. We asked if there an oral surgeon on call that he could call for us to consult, he told us that he would NOT call him in for this. We left completely disheartened. This is not what I would expect from a Lee Health facility. I expected better. I would have received better care from a walk in clinic than this ER facility. I will never be back. FOLLOW UP EDIT: I did find an oral surgeon who saw her as an emergency walk in. He did confirm that we made the correct call by NOT allowing him to remove the clots and that he should never have even irrigated the site. Everything we warned the ER doctor about was validated. He would have severely hurt and done damage if we let the doctor carry out his plan of action. The doctor and the PA have no business working in patient care!"
