Dr. Sean Heron is a highly qualified urologist, having graduated with highest honors from Denison University and earning his medical degree from The Ohio State University in 1989. He completed an extensive 6-year surgery and urology residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Since joining Pinellas Urology in 1995, Dr. Heron has contributed his surgical expertise and research acumen to the practice. He is certified by the American Board of Urology and has multiple publications in books and leading urology journals.

Residing in the St. Petersburg area with his family, Dr. Heron is actively involved in his community and enjoys golfing, family activities, and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes. He is a key urologist at our St. Petersburg office and was one of the original investigators for the Urolift procedure, which he has been performing since its introduction in Florida. Under the mentorship of Dr. George Cooner, Dr. Heron has significantly contributed to advancements in the diagnosis of prostate cancer.
