"Great place to experience my first float tank experience. Their staff give a very detailed explanation of all their services and what to expect during your float. The facilities are clean and well maintained. They provide towels, waterproof ear plugs, q tips, shampoo, and soap in your float room. They have more than float tanks as well and include a sauna room, air compression therapy, and PMF mat. Great place to check out."

"I have yet to find a float experience that is not incredibly relaxing and de-stressing. If you're looking to float, Florida Floats is a great spot with good value options. I appreciated the ease of booking online. When I arrived a bit early they already had me set up and ready to go. I loved that the shower was an actual full shower just outside the tank. Having the option to have twinkle lights on the ceiling was cool! This was also the first time I was in more of a bath tub vs a pod, but I was still able to get into the same relaxed state and it was actually nice that it was less likely my body would bump into the side to disrupt my meditative state. My only critique would be the smell when you walk into the space. I'm sure it's hard to keep a building that has standing salt water inside, especially in Florida, from getting musty though."

"My experience doing flotation therapy for the first time was very serene and surreal! I’m writing a detailed review for those trying this for the first time that want to know more about what to expect. :) St. Pete Salt Works keeps a very clean and inviting establishment. After checking in I was shown down the hallway to a private spa room where a staff member gave me a brief overview of what to expect, then departed. In the room there was a chair with both a large and small towel provided, a shower with body wash and shampoo, and the tub with a few accessories. I was able to lock the door for complete privacy, take a shower, then prep for floating by putting in ear plugs that they provided and covering cuts I had with Vaseline that they also provided (to prevent the salt stinging the cuts). The floating space itself had high walls with a ceiling that lit up with twinkle lights and a separate light in the tub. Those who are worried about feeling claustrophobic would appreciate the ample space in the room (it was nothing like the standalone “pods” that close from above that I had seen at other establishments). You can choose to keep the dim lights on or off by pressing a button in the tub. I will admit that I chose to keep the twinkling lights on because being in total darkness was a little spooky to me when I tried it. The water is about 10 inches deep and heated to a welcoming temperature. The room does get a bit hazy with steam, though it’s not unbearable. I tried each of the available floating neck support rings and found the white one to be more comfortable. I do wish that I had tied my hair up because it got very tangled during the session. I initially found it difficult to fight off restlessness and fully give into the lack of stimulation. This experience was surprisingly a bit of a mental challenge because of how over-stimulated I find myself in everyday life. However, as time went on, I found it easier to focus on my breath and relax. The sensation of complete weightlessness was really wonderful. I found myself picturing that I was floating in space a few times. The hour went by surprisingly quick since my sense of time was distorted. There is a soft bit of music that plays to gently alert you that the hour is over. It was a little difficult to fully get up out of the tub and fight gravity again - I found myself feeling mildly “heavy” for the next hour or so. After the floating ended, I showered again, changed, and used the facilities “freshening up” room where a hairbrush and lotions were provided. For the next few hours I was VERY relaxed and sleepy - I recommend doing a session on a day that you’re okay with not accomplishing much afterward! This was a unique experience that I hope to try again one day soon!"
