"Merrill Land Construction put hurricane clips on our house. We installed the clips to achieve a discount on our high wind insurance as well as to increase roof's survivability in future hurricanes. It took us months of research, and a savvy Realtor, to find this company. The men who installed the clips used to be the primary installers of hurricane clips for the RESTORE project. They knew what they were doing. The inspector for our insurance was so impressed when he saw the work they had done that he asked for their name and contact so he could use them to put clips on his house. Patrick, at Merrill Land, explained clearly how the project would evolve, and what we could expect. We were so impressed with his expertise, and the quality of their work we experienced, that we hired them to take out and replace rusted metal supports for our carport/storage area. The work was done carefully, efficiently and professionally. It is guaranteed for a year; if any problem comes up they will fix it. The crew left the area picked up, put away and clean every day when they left, and were careful about sharp objects. Finding a company like this is solid gold."
"10/23 Update: I have updated my rating. I give them an A for effort. Although it took months after the initial contact, I was finally able to get my door replaced under warranty. The representative I worked with last handled it much better than the previous person I worked with and for that, I am appreciative. Original Review: I can not recommend this company. I reached out to them because they absorbed the previous contractor I worked with. During the initial consultation, they were responsive and came to my home within a couple of days. After that, I never saw them again. They would give me a date for follow up and they would never follow up so I would have to call back. When I called back, I always got the voicemail and wouldn’t hear back for 2 days. I would speak to someone, they would say they would reach out in a day or 2 and I would not hear anything after a week. It was this same cycle for over a month until I just gave up. I have my suspicions as to why they were stalling and avoiding the work I am capable of and willing to pay, but I will opt to only stating the facts. There are other contractors out there and based on my experience, I would advise anyone to look elsewhere."
