"Bugbee is the most wonderful daycare that I have found and my daughter has attended. They have a kitchen and prepare meals for the children which makes it super easy for parents. There are huge indoor play areas so when the weather doesn't allow for the kiddos to go outside they still get plenty of activity inside. There are multiple playgrounds outside for all ages. Much of the staff are students enrolled in childcare development at SUNY Oneonta and they are energetic and excited to be there working with the children. They do more than just color with crayons, they use sensory tables, paint, and have sandboxes. They're not scared of making messes and teach how to clean up. They host farm and family days and special events and take the kids for walks around the local homes and parks. We were so sad we had to move away and can't find any daycare centers close to how wonderful Bugbee is. We are moving back to Oneonta soon and can't wait to attend again."
"Never been so disappointed and disgusted in a daycare in my life. I usually cherish the people who deal with children everyday because it is not easy. However, this place is a complete joke. My 4 year old brother who was adopted as a baby because he suffered severe drug abuse and sexual abuse from his birth parents, was enrolled at Bugbee Daycare. Since the start he was kind of the odd one out because he started a little later and needed to catch up to the other kids when it came to academics. If you’re a teacher and notice that, you would think you would take the time out of your eight hour day to give him a little more of your time teaching him. Instead, they belittled him and bashed him because of the late start that he got. For example, I came to pick him up one day and he was told to put his name tag on the bottom where you sign out..he couldn’t identify his name and the teacher said to me “he can’t identify his name and everyone else in the class can”. Well it’s YOUR job to teach him his name and how to identify it! Instead, she was critical towards him. This was not the only problem. As the days went on, Nathaniel was sent home with a journal every week explaining his behavior, one being “he would not listen so we had to restrain him to a chair”. At age four, I find that VERY unacceptable. Furthermore, when we went to the daycare for a meeting, we were told that the only way he could remain in this daycare was if he was put on medication to make him behave. I’m not only disgusted but i’m embarrassed to even think I would tolerate this behavior for as long as I did. I’m so embarrassed to even admit that my brother went to this daycare! best of luck to any parents who enroll their children at a later age!"
