"I also went to St. Mary Magdalene from 1964 to 1970. My favorite nun was Sister Mary. I remember the cross in the middle of the hallway across from the principal's office. The cafeteria and the library were in the basement of the school and on the second floor I used to put up the American flag every morning and take it down every afternoon. The church was magnificent! Not only was the church on the ground level but there was also one in the basement. I was an altar boy for many years and all of the prayers were said in Latin. Any time I'm in town I always make it a point to stop there. Such great memories and I'm happy to hear that it's still going strong after all of these years. Although the school is shut down, the church still thrives. Keep the faith!"
"Have been a patron of St. Mary Magdelene church for more than thirty years. All my children were baptised here, and I also minister here as well. Supported them after the fire and the rebuilding, and have been attending mass in the beautiful new church since. The parishioners are welcoming to one and all. There is a sense of serinity that one feels upin entering the church. Visitors are made to feel welcome and that they always have a home here at St. Mary Magdalene."
"A big beautifully rebuilt church inside and out because the other one that was over 100yrs old burned down. The people are very friendly. The music ministry is great. They have a children’s choir, Sunday school and youth ministry with dancers. The sermons are real and relatable when Father Jeff or Father Cosmos speaks. They have a lot of members and every year they have an annual picnic in the yard in July with activities for children and adults. It’s a great church for families because everyone can be involved in something and they also have special programs/get togethers for certain holidays. It’s not your average Roman Catholic Church."
"Loved the Homily given by Deacon Ernie yesterday. Very thought provoking and conscience searching. The way he tied in the current mandate given to ICE to raid and arrest illegals with the Jesus' parents fleeing to Bethlehem because of Herod's cruel mandate; and even as far back as Moses and the Israelites fleeing Egypt, was so on pointe. He also warned about quick judgements being made by some who saw the heart rending picture seen in the news of the father and daughter...dead...died seeking hope and better..."
"I went to the school from 1964 to 1968 and continued going to the Church into the 80's. Participated in a 40 year reunion in 2008 in front of the Church, before fire burned it to the ground. I visited the newly restored sanctuary, and stayed! Beautiful building... and parish as well."
