Reviews of Liberty State Park
"Beautiful view. You need to take a ferry to get a really great view of the Statue of Liberty, but just looking at the city in the landscape in general is great from the land. Lots of people having cookouts and picnics. Lots of people jogging."
"Loved this park. It is clean, and you can find a place to sit and spend time with your family. It has a beautiful view of NYC. You can get there from NYC using the Liberty Landing boat. Be ready to do a lot of walking."
"Very disappointed. Weeds growing up in fences, flags missing from the display, bathroom was like 1970 and smelled the same. The grass hasn’t been kept up. Little kids climbing on monuments/statues. Waited 20 minutes to take a picture. Beautiful viewing location of the Liberty statue. The location was ran down and hadn’t been kept up. Within a week of Independence Day. I would think some efforts and pride would go into a place so significant. Very disappointing."
"Liberty State Park is truly a gem and one of my favorite places to visit. The park offers breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island, making it a perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy some stunning scenery. The expansive green spaces are perfect for picnics, leisurely strolls, and family outings. There are plenty of walking and biking paths that wind through the park, allowing you to explore and appreciate its natural beauty. The playgrounds are well-maintained and provide endless fun for kids, while the Liberty Science Center nearby offers an educational experience for all ages. One of the highlights of Liberty State Park is the accessibility to the water. Whether you're taking a ferry to visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, or simply enjoying the marina, the proximity to the Hudson River adds a refreshing element to the park. The park is so clean and well-maintained, with ample amenities and facilities to ensure a comfortable visit. The staff and rangers are friendly and always willing to help with any questions or needs. Overall, Liberty State Park is a wonderful place to spend a weekend. Whether you're looking to relax in nature, engage in outdoor activities, or soak in some history, this park offers something for everyone. Highly recommended for both locals and visitors!"
"Liberty State Park is an absolute must-visit if you're in the New York City area. Nestled in Jersey City, it offers breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island. The park is incredibly well-maintained, featuring sprawling green spaces, picnic areas, and a long waterfront walkway that’s perfect for a leisurely stroll or a bike ride. One of the highlights is the Liberty Science Center, which is a great spot for both kids and adults. There's also the Empty Sky Memorial, a poignant tribute to the victims of 9/11 from New Jersey. Parking is ample and reasonably priced, which is a huge plus in this region. While there are some food trucks and a café, packing a picnic can make for a delightful day out. However, a few areas could use better signage, and it can get quite crowded on weekends. Despite this, the park's serene atmosphere and stunning vistas make it a fantastic escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Highly recommended for a family outing, a romantic date, or simply a day of relaxation."
