"I’m Protestant non-denominational and have been coming across orthodox YouTube videos lately. I decided to attend this one on Christmas Eve and Christmas being that it’s closest to home. I’m happy I had a chance to experience what the Orthodox Church has to offer, although this one is specifically Greek Orthodox and they speak in mainly Greek. It’s a radical difference than what I’m used to, however, I felt a deepened spiritual connection. I enjoyed the 9am Orthros service, which is the chanting of prayer and hymn. It was spoken in Greek so I can’t comment on what exactly it consists of. Immediately following is the lithurgy, which is the sermon itself. On Christmas it was done in English, so I had the chance to appreciate the message of reverence for Jesus birth and life. Both days, a small congregation was in attendance, mainly age 55 and over. The people are so lovely and welcoming. I will definitely visit again. (Keep in mind if you’re under age 50 and looking for a lively environment, this is not the atmosphere for that. No clapping, no band or theatrical displays of praise as a Protestant church would have)"
