Mount Olivet Cemetery 6540 Grand Avenue, Queens, NY 11378

"The gates closing at 4:30.. as a working person it is very hard for me to make it there on time to visit my mother . This is the 3rd time i didn't make the opening time. Driving 3.5 h ( + traffic time ) from Pa this is extremely upsetting . Neven seen cemetery that closes so early!!! Not in Pa not in NY . All of them just have a low fence or they are open till 8 pm . I wish I have never left my mother here. Grounds are beautiful but so are most of others cemeteries. Very disappointed"

"My dad used to take us here. He would lay under the big tree near the workers shed near where his grandmother and great grandmother were laid to rest. My sisters and I would water all the plants in the area. For us it was like being in the countryside because we lived in an area with more apartment buildings and no grassy areas. When my mom passed the funeral director automatically assumed Calvary but I told my dad I always assumed it would be there. My mom, dad and sister rest peacefully on top of the hill on Clinton overlooking his mother"

"My family has been coming here since early 1900. We often will come here and do some maintenance and share lunch and stories. I love this cemetery."
