We take pride in our efforts to honor and remember significant historical events, as seen in our recent lighting of City Hall and other municipal buildings in yellow to commemorate the International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition.
Our office is also at the forefront of civil rights and housing initiatives, having announced the largest civil rights settlement in city history to protect New Yorkers from housing discrimination. Additionally, Mayor Adams has issued an executive order to review city-owned and controlled land for potential housing development, aiming to create more affordable housing options for New Yorkers.
We are actively working to protect consumers, as demonstrated by our lawsuit against WAY.COM for supporting illegal parking companies. Furthermore, we celebrate the achievements of esteemed New Yorkers, such as awarding the Key to the City to Al Roker for his outstanding contributions to broadcast journalism.
