"I really don't understand why there are so many neutral/negative reviews of this Santander branch. I had an entirely opposite experience. I walked in on a Saturday morning recently. There was a minimal wait and Harry the bank branch manager and Joel, the banker, were nothing but professional, courteous and efficient helping me to open up a new account. I almost forgot that a bank could offer such a personalized touch in this day and age!"
"I took back my review because the manager was extremely helpful because the person who assisted me lacked any enthusiasm to perform his job and I tried to make it easy on him because I explained that knew what I wanted and he didn't have to do everything play by play! But just like I thought his ego was small and I must of offended him because his attitude was lame and he opened the wrong account. Now, I'm closing my account again, thanks!"
"This is by far the worse bank I've ever been associated with. Their customer service is the worse. They do the least possible to resolve your issues. I deposited a $5,000 check which was in my wife's name. The check was flagged for fraud. They called me into the bank. I went with my wife and she said the check was legit. They wanted her IDs. She showed her pictured benefits card and the NYCID, both which are accepted in all check cashing locations. The bank however did not accept it. They told me that it would be easier for me to approve the check to be sent back to the maker to re-issue another check. I didn't think anything of it and approved it. 2 weeks later they tell me that it will take 30 to 90 days for the check to sent back. If I was told that from the beginning I would have gone to the DMV with my to get her a state ID. A week later without notice my account is frozen for about 2 weeks while they remove the funds from my account to take out the $5,000. Does it really take that long... This caused major hazzles with my bills and such. Get this they were still accepting my direct deposits but I could withdraw anything unless I went to branch, which as you know is not convenient as they only have a few locations in the city and they close at 5pm, when everyone is still at work. Yesterday I went to use my card and it was declined. I later called the bank and they had closed my account. So not only do I still not have the $5,000 but It still has not been sent back and now they closed my account without any warning or notices. Needless to say I really don't care for this bank but if they would have given me notice I would have changed my bank and not have this issue affect my direct deposits from my employer and the bills that I automatically paying I will need to pay late fees on. AGAIN, This is the worse bank EVER!!!!!!"
"Their staff is useless. Lunch break is obviously a popular time for the bank and they only had 2 people working. There was a long line and no one directed or greated people to let them know who they need to speak to. I waited in line for 15-20 min only to find out that I needed to speak to a banker and did not need to wait in line. If they had people to help manage this situation and direct them to the appropriate people like ALL OTHER BANKS, then it would be more organized and customer friendly."
"Professional, friendly and helpful - especially Andrej. Wait time if you need a teller is minimal to none usually. Nicely designed branch. I agree we have too many bank offices - though this bank can use more (this replaced their Park Ave. location)."
