Reviews
"Beautiful space, peaceful and engaging sculptural art. The outdoor area feels like you are transported to Japan. The exhibition on Toshiko Takaezu is absolutely incredible. Take advance of their Free First Friday admission at the beginning of the month, just be sure to reserve a couple weeks ahead of time."
"Amazing museum with great artwork. Incredible pottery and stonework! This is a really inspirational place for all sorts of artists. The pieces they have are incredible, the colours and techniques used are stunning. The team that work there is sweet, helpful and caring. Their app is not so good, but it’s good to have since they have a podcast that explains the story behind the pieces and the rooms. They’ll give you all the info you need at the desk! GO VISIT!!!"
"Fantastic museum of mostly filled with works form Isamu Noguchi. The massive stone sculpture evoke a sense of awe and peacefulness. The smaller works that span the gallery are colorful and lively and induce a sense of movement. Not very crowded and perfect for a weekend trip."
"The free Friday event was quite nice. The space was not as crowded as it would’ve been at the met, mona or Whitney. I love the garden and the shop. The most the garden is really a place where you can sit down on a bench or on a mat and enjoy the magnolia blooming in peace. The shop is a curated exhibition itself with a series of paper lapse being the star of the show, actual exhibition was hard to relate and comprehend."
"This intimate, contemplative museum in Long Island City was conceived and built by Isamu Noguchi himself. Here, his mostly abstract sculptures are displayed on two floors of exhibition space. Outside, the works are displayed in tranquil, ivy-covered walled gardens, where they blend in with nature. One of my favorite place in NY"
