"This is a good park but there is a Homeless Man sleeping on the bench next to Main Street. His friends may come and chat with him but he is usually alone there. Please don’t go too close to him, he may attack you so avoid walking close to him. He also does leave his spot that he stays just to attempt to get food in Downtown Flushing. Update. The Homeless man is now removed by the city. The benches are safe to sit on now. Expect a few weirdos and homeless to come but you'll be okay."
"Dan Carter Beard Mall decades earlier had been double to triple its width with many more large shade trees and vegetation, large enough for people to congregate. Increasing Flushing population density and out of control traffic forced NYC DOT to widen Northern Blvd and in collaboration with NYC Parks eliminated the park and green space for less treed hard space. Unpleasant to visit due to busy traffic and air and noice pollution aside from ones interest in the War Memorials. Located opposite the once infamous 1928 Spanish Baroque Revival RKO Keiths Theater shuttered and boarded up, destroyed by the notorious slumlord Tommy Huang. It is clearly a public eyesore and sample of urban blight upon ones entry into Flushing Queens."
"Beautiful, open air. Lots of benches and trees, close to a bunch of transportation and food places, as well as delis, supermarkets, movie theaters, restaurants, gas stations and hotels. A very popular spot for locals to feed birds and do Tai chi in the morning as well."
"Very ethnic. Great spot for foods from Asia and South America. The smells can be a bit much."
"Small but cute strip of lush looking land; flowers and cherry blossoms as a median and a monument."
