St Marks Ame Church

Welcome to St. Mark AME Church, a nurturing and loving family with a heart to serve, located at 9518 Northern Boulevard in Queens, New York. As a vibrant place of worship, we are dedicated to opening our doors wide to minister to both our congregation and the community. Under the inspiring leadership of Rev. Kimberly L. Detherage, the first female pastor in our church's 196-year history, we strive to provide a welcoming environment where faith can flourish and community bonds can strengthen.

At St. Mark AME Church, we believe in the power of service and community engagement. During the pandemic, we remained a beacon of hope by operating a food pantry, hosting COVID-19 antibody testing and vaccinations, offering grief workshops, and partnering with local organizations to ensure the well-being of our community.

We are proud to offer a variety of programs and events, including our annual St. Mark AME Lay Organization Flea Market & Cookout Extravaganza and the return of our Church School on September 8, 2024. Additionally, we are part of the Torchlighters Series, showcasing "The Richard Allen Story," an animated film about the founder of the AME Church.

Join us for our Sunday worship service at 11:00 am, available both in-person and via Zoom. Our services are conducted with health and safety in mind, including mandatory mask-wearing, social distancing, and sanitation measures throughout the church. We also offer Sunday School and Bible study in a hybrid format, allowing participation both online and in-person.

As we celebrate our 193rd anniversary, we reflect on our journey from humble beginnings in 1898 to our current location in Jackson Heights. We invite you to be a part of our growing faith community, where we are committed to giving our best and gauging our future with hope and determination.
