"I’ve attended Sunday Mass and each visit I’ve felt love & joy enter my heart. Such a beautiful church, easy to understand Priest and the community fills the seats. Please visit and you’ll share with us all this glorious house."
"I have been attending the Italian Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Astoria for most of my life. I find it more fulfilling and spiritually uplifting than the other Italian masses at other nearby churches. Years ago I would have given it a 5 Star review, however, over the past few years the mass has become a hybrid mass. Some Sundays the mass is conducted entirely in Italian as it should be. Other Sundays the priest mot fluent in Italian will say his part in English confusing everyone. Should we respond in Italian or English? It becomes a mess and is very disappointing to the Italian congregants. I have reached out to the monsignor about this more than once but he continues to assign priests that do not speak Italian to conduct the mass. It’s a real shame. 4 stars is being generous."
"A welcoming and friendly atmosphere. A wonderful pastor. Great homilies and strong participation from the congregation. Also good parking!"
"Very nice church. Large parking lot. Father Peter Hoai was very accommodating."
"SFA is a lovely little parish tucked away in northern Astoria. Both Msgr. Maresca and Fr. Francis are wonderful, personable priests, and there is a great sense of community about the place. You will be welcomed at SFA!"
