"My daughter took me there for the first time and it is such a cool bookstore. Very unique in every way. To see one of the cooler things there you have to go inside the bathroom. There are notes all over the walls with positive messages written by visitors for visitors. Another cool thing was the Blind Date books for sale. The books are wrapped in blank paper so you have no idea what you're going to get. She was so happy with hers because it was signed by the author. We will go back for sure."
"This is the cutest bookstore I have ever been in. I went during a book signing event and it was an extremely smooth process. The staff was extremely nice and I greatly appreciated that they allowed us to walk around the store after our book had been signed. They have so many books available for purchase and I really loved all of the extra little things scattered through the store - highlighters, book tabs for annotating, shirts, bags and of course stickers. This is definitely a must-see spot if you are a book lover and happen to be in Park Slope at any point."
"Cute store, a little hard to navigate since all of the contemporary romance is just alphabetized. Smaller than expected & a lot of staff behind the front desk but they were not all that friendly. Overall if you want to pick up a romance book at a cute shop in Brooklyn this is a good stop."
"How charming is this sweet little Park Slope oasis?! Finally, someone is giving Romance the respect & spotlight it deserves! For a top selling genre, this is long overdue. The staff are wonderfully sincere & helpful. Their cute blind date with a book is such a daring proposition, I may have to push beyond my comfort zone and give into adventure one day & buy one! ♥️"
"When I heard there’s going to be a bookstore solely dedicated to selling romance novels I immediately thought this is what New York is missing. New York has all kinds of bookstores. There are bookstores that sells from children’s books to cookbooks. So to have a book that sells only romance books is a dream come true. When I entered the store, I loved that there was a lot of people browsing all over the store. I also loved that I saw a lot of people with books in their hands to purchase. The store sells different romance genres. From historical to young adult to fantasy romance. They also had all kinds of stickers and pins. I truly loved there was a table dedicated to Jane Austen. I mean come on, how can a romance bookstore not carry her books! Lol! The Ripped Bodice is a wonderful bookstore and let’s all hope is that it’s here to stay for a long time."
