About the Business

"We are absolutely thrilled to share our wonderful experiences at the Kips Bay Library, a true gem in our community. The staff here are exceptional, and we feel incredibly lucky to have such dedicated individuals guiding us through our literary journeys. First and foremost, Kaydene and Alicia are nothing short of extraordinary. They are more than just librarians; they are like best friends who always have your back. Their kindness and willingness to help are remarkable. Whether you need help finding a book or advice on a research project, they go above and beyond to ensure you have what you need. Caroline is another standout. Her youthful spirit and enthusiasm for reading make every visit a delight. Her book recommendations are spot on, and she always seems to know exactly what I’m in the mood for. It’s clear she has a deep love for books and a genuine desire to share that with others. A special shout-out to Ellisa King, who hosts the monthly book club discussions. Her passion for literature and her ability to foster engaging conversations make each session something to eagerly anticipate. Ellisa’s enthusiasm and insightful questions bring new dimensions to every book we discuss, making each meeting both enriching and enjoyable. Together, Kaydene, Alicia, Caroline, and Ellisa create a warm, welcoming environment that makes the Kips Bay Library feel like a second home. Their dedication to their roles and to the community is truly inspiring. If you haven’t visited yet, you’re in for a treat. The Kips Bay Library is a treasure trove of knowledge, community, and excellent service. Thank you team for being our haven."
"Just had a horrible experience with a young girl here who told me I couldn’t check out with my digital card even though I’ve checked out multiple times here with my digital card (multiple times this month in fact). I hope she gets fired. Very inconsiderate of her to assume I can easily come back to get the book. In fact I cannot, it’s out of my way, I don’t have time, and tomorrow is the last day for me to get it. Absolutely atrocious customer service. Train your staff better."
"Be careful of the black lady that works there. She has a very bad attitude and I think she's biased against black people and racist"
"It's a small building. The 1st floor is for adults it usually always smells of body odor and weird people hanging out. On the second floor is the children's area it's nice and clean."
"The building is very small, so if this is your home library, you rely on placing holds. There are no DVDs. There are some computers, tables, outlets, cushy chairs, and a restroom. A children’s room is on the second floor. The security guard is nice. I thought the other reviews must’ve been exaggerating, but the librarians really do have loud and sometimes vulgar conversations in the back room. IK the library doesn’t get much traffic, but please be quieter."
