Reviews
"I'm so glad we went to this iconic theater. Michael R. Jackson's, 'A Strange Loop' was amazing! Fortunately, we didn't see any ghosts, but we did see a theater with so much history and beauty."
"I was fortunate enough to grab one of the final Grey House performances at the Lyceum Theater this weekend. Lyceum opened in 1903. It is one of the oldest surviving Broadway venues and the oldest operating legitimate theater in New York City. The facade, lobby, and auditorium became a New York City designated landmark. It truly is a gorgeous theater. There are over 900 seats in this intimate setting leaving not much elbow room so you may want to sit at the ends of the aisles. Grey House was definitely not like any other Broadway show I’ve seen. I’d describe it as a psychological thriller with some moments of comedy to break up the heaviness of the plot. You absolutely must pay attention to every detail, the set, wardrobe, lighting, music, every single word. There are clues in every scene that build up to a very extraordinary and emotional ending, if you are able to piece together the story you will truly shed tears at the end. The cast was amazing and it was great to see Laurie Metcalf on stage. This is a show that would probably reveal more if you watch it more than once. So sad that it closed the final curtain this weekend. I hope there are more shows like this in the future. All in all it was a memorable experience"
"Saw Grey House, first matinee, and it was awesome. ♡ Drinks pricey, but to be expected from the area, and there is at least one cheaper bar within a square block to chat with company afterward. Beautiful architecture, inclusive bathrooms, and handicap accessible. Totally worth the day trip."
"Lyceum theatre is beautiful historic building. The exterior and interior will take you back in time to the early 1900’s. It’s very well maintained and preserved. Like with all theaters where you sit is pretty important to the show experience. Watched a strange loop and grey house here, both shows were very well made."
"I recently had the privilege of experiencing A Strange Loop at the Lyceum Theatre, and it was nothing short of inspiring. The theater itself is a beautiful and historic venue, adding to the overall ambiance of the show. But what truly left a lasting impression on me was A Strange Loop itself. The performances were phenomenal, the music was moving, and the story was thought-provoking and relatable. It left me with a lot to ponder and reflect on long after the curtain closed. I regret that the show has ended, as I would have loved to see it again."
