"Bruh I swear, I May be ONLY a 14 yr old who just moved here from Brazil, but I can Tell you the staff I met in this place is unbelievably kind. I forgot my darn wallet and if it wasn't for them, I would have lost $5 Thank you, NYPL!"
"The worker on the second level was weirdly hostile when I wandered up there looking for a quiet place to work. If there is a sign somewhere stating that the area is for children only, it's not obvious and should be made more prominent. Further, the policy itself strikes me as odd. Restricting use of the second floor during the middle of the day when most kids are in school seems like poor allocation of public space."
"Love the quiet back garden and handmade art and general grassroots vibe of this library."
"Many of the reviewers speaking of staff negatively have no idea what these people do on a daily basis and take interactions that have nothing to do with themselves out of context. Judge only your own interactions. This place is amazing. Super busy and still a gem tucked away on a side street."
"This is one of my favorite NYPL in the city. Even though it doesn’t carry the biggest selection of books and materials, it possesses a quiet study room one floor below, where there no activity whatsoever. Most libraries I’ve visited are quite silent, but there is always some kind of activity going on- people are walking by, picking up/returning books at the front desk, etc. This room is distant from all the activities mentioned above. I am glad I live close by and can visit often. *During the warmer months there is an outside garden area which is quiet and you can enjoy some fresh air. !!!The only thing to note is that the Study room is not open at all times. There needs to be a registered volunteer present, and sometimes there is none, but most of the times I’ve been there, it’s been all good."
