"Barry is a wonderful owner and I’m indebted to him for his support of my book WHEN LIONS ROAR: The Churchills and the Kennedys. - Thomas Maier"
"A gem of Churchill history. Make no mistake Chartwell is hidden & hard to find but so worth the search. Ask security they will show you in. It's like walking back in time, a glass door opens & you're greeted perfect vintage music. The staff is welcoming & knowledgable. They carry the finest selection of Churchill books in the world. Check this landmark out & touch history!"
"This is such a lovely find. Besides interesting tomes on Churchill, there are also well curated sections on biography, fiction and jazz! And even cook books and children’s books. The books are in great condition and selected with love and care. A perfect place to hit up if you’re picking a gift or just want to encounter a new old book serendipitously."
"Lovely bookstore dedicated to Winston Churchill. I asked the store clerk for a recommendation of a Churchill biography. He suggested "Churchill - Walking With Destiny" by Andrew Roberts. I suggest you visit if you are ever in the area."
"Bought Vancouver and British Columbia by Alexander S. Holmes. When reviewing the book I came to pg.9 that is suppose to show Vancouver's BC growth from 1867. The map is of Vancouver Washington - not Vancouver BC. Very poor editing. Poor research. Not sure how many other errors there are. I won't finish the book and do not recommend it for anyone who wants to know this part of the world. Dan Vosper"
