"Sister's Uptown Bookstore is our community hub. We support however we can. They support the neighborhood with wholesale, thought-provoking, and informative programming. #WeLoveThisPlace"
"What a lovely store! Ms. Wilson, the store owner, was so sweet and charming. The energy she radiated was palpable. She’s a reason alone to come and visit this bookstore. Outside of the awesome and welcoming owner, there’s also a good selection of books. My personal favorite part of the store was all the African art on sale. I badly wanted the round mask in the picture, but didn’t have room in my suitcase for it! Can’t wait to visit this gem again."
"Books are my happy place and I’m often in pursuit of authentic literary experiences. Sisters Uptown Bookstore did not disappoint. The owner was welcoming, knowledgeable and made my family and I feel welcome. I would definitely visit again the next time I’m in Harlem."
"It's a Place Where Black History is Protected & Stored ! Where Our Ancestors are Reborn- Where Harlem Provides The Power of Reading To It's Young and Old! Whenever I Need to Vibe in African Culture Sister's Uptown Bookstore and Cultural Center in Harlem is My Place To Be!"
"Such an eclectic store! There's books, soaps/shirts/bags/jewelry/etc made by local artists, and events as well. There's also a section for discount books. I came here to find a gift for an artist friend and found the perfect book for his opening night. I looked online out of curiosity and the book is NOT easy to come by. I definitely plan on coming here again. I was given a tour upon walking in and was warmly welcomed."
