Reviews
"Honestly the best powerlifting and bodybuilding gym in brooklyn and NY. no drama, not overcrowded, good culture and the management is very responsive and accommodating. They are always open to feedback. You have all of the space and equipment to become the best lifter that you want to become. Whether you’re introverted or extroverted this is the place to lift and be Elite"
"This gym is everything one would need to train for a powerlifting competition with inclusion of kilogram plates and competition barbells. That being said, the gym machines are limited to the basics and there is only one true leg machine. Another example is that they have an hip abduction machine but not an hip adduction machine (very strange). The dumbells are nice and go all the way up to whatever you need (don’t tell me you bench the 180s you eggheads). The biggest knock of this gym is the way people act, it is a toxic environment socially with people with sub ten years experience in powerlifting acting like they know it all and act like are the “chosen ones” in an anime. Grow up and get put of your mother’s purses this gym is mad expensive."
"I went to this gym regularly for about 2 years and found it to be a really wonderful place. As far as gyms go, this one has exactly what I'm looking for: all the equipment you need, no frills, 24/7 access, and a real focus on strength training and power lifting. It's a small space, but they make the most of it. Rarely did I need to wait for equipment or find that they didn't have something I was looking for. The gym has a wonderful sense of community, as well, with lots of regulars who regularly help and support veterans and newcomers alike. You really feel the positive energy when you go here. The price is reasonable too. It's extremely hard to find a functional, utilitarian gym in New York for a reasonable price. It seems that fitness has been entirely taken over by overpriced boutiques that demand you pay exorbitant prices to take classes or work 1:1 with a trainer on overdesigned, gimmicky, and expensive equipment. This gym is really a gem if what you're looking for is to get strong in a great place."
"This place is the spot if you're down that way. Amazing powerlifting gym but also has two rooms where you can go and get mad pump. Smoothies and preworkout available - amazing tuned, awesome vibe and great people. Would definitely visit again."
"Since gyms have opened, I have been wanting to find a place where I could lift and feel comfortable. Ever since finding Elite Barbell, I have never felt more comfortable to work out. The community there is great, respectful, and most importantly supportive. What I also appreciate about this gym is the fact that you're able to speak to the owners about concerns and ways to possibly improve the gym. With other gyms, especially commercial gyms, you're not able to speak to those people as openly. The equipment there looks clean and honestly like new, and I've seen them bring in new equipment for us to use. The space itself is just open and welcoming, always greeted with a smile. I've never had a problem there and it's been a great place to go to especially since the pandemic has hit. I'm excited to continue my journey there!"
