Located at 1277 Taylor Road, Owego, New York 13827, Head Start is a dedicated educational institution committed to fostering early childhood development. As a federally funded program, we proudly serve preschool children from low-income families, providing them with the essential early learning experiences needed to thrive in elementary school and beyond.

Our comprehensive curriculum is designed to address the developmental, social, and physical needs of children aged 3 to 5 years. Since the 2007 Improving Head Start for School Readiness Act, we have placed a strong emphasis on ensuring that every child enters kindergarten prepared for academic success. Through a variety of developmentally appropriate, hands-on activities, we nurture a positive self-concept and cultivate a lifelong love for learning.

Our team works closely with parents to tailor a curriculum that offers each child opportunities for success, builds self-esteem, and encourages a positive attitude toward learning. Teachers at Head Start are committed to understanding each child's unique abilities, developmental levels, and learning approaches to design personalized activities.

We invite families considering our program to schedule an appointment to observe classroom activities, helping them make informed decisions about their child's education. Parents of enrolled children are welcome to visit the classroom at any time during the school day.

In addition to our Head Start services, we offer Early Head Start programs for children aged 6 weeks to 3 years and full-day UPK programs for 4-year-olds. Our programs extend to children living in Binghamton, Johnson City, and Susquehanna School Districts as part of our Broome County Program, and those in Owego, Newark Valley, and Waverly School Districts for our Tioga County Program.
