Coburn Free Library

"This is the cutest little library. It felt very welcoming. There are so many spots that are begging for you to sit and read all day. I wish I could come back without my kids and just sit and read there for a day, honestly! It’s so inviting. They have themed educational backpacks with books and supplies the children can check out- for example, a “how to tie your shoes” backpack that includes large shoes with laces to practice on. There is a seed library, communal puzzle, coloring pages, and more. We will be returning for storytime to check that out as well. There is ample parking behind the building adjacent to the large church parking lot. The main entrance is only accessible via stairs but I believe there must be an accessible entrance in the back because there is an elevator. The bathroom was clean. Rather than stalls, it contains a toilet, very nice changing table, sink, and towel dispenser. The toilet is not automatic flush but is very loud. The fan comes on with the light and is also quite loud. Even the sink was loud. My child is very sensitive to these details and I can imagine that she’s not the only one."

"Grew up in Owego. Always enjoyed story hour there as a child. As an adult enjoyed the reading selection, friendly staff and how quiet it was. I live in Ohio now so I haven't been to the Libra in awhile, but will make it a point the next time IM in town."

"Charming comfortable homey cozy old-time real library. Outstanding, helpful staff. Newly handicap accessible with a spiffy new elevator and restroom. Ample parking. Lots of nice programs for kids. Good selection of materials and if you can't find something it can be ordered and comes speedily from another library in the system."
