"My friends and I have been trying to come here for a week and now we finally came here and they accommodated me for bottomless margaritas which made my night! I really appreciate the service and the food! My friends truly enjoyed the margaritas and I loved the food especially the chicken tacos. very simple and flavourful. The aesthetic is very unique and we had very comfortable seats. I would highly recommend coming here after all our troubles trying to come here for our whole trip."
"Not that expensive for a restaurant in nyc. Located underground in a CAVE-LIKE space. It is not a real cave and is fake. They have a bar in the middle and tables lined on the outside. Reminds me of the Rainforest Cafe, but mature. Beautiful place to eat. We came at 9 pm on a Wednesday. Online they said they close at 10 pm but upon arrival they said they kitchen closed at 9:30pm. We felt extremely rushed as they were cleaning up at 9 pm. There were 2 other tables eating. Towards 9:30, a couple came in for drinks but they said the bar closes soon and they can only order one. They spent 10 minutes there then left. Our waitress rushed everything and moved so fast she forgot to give us napkins and utensils, the other guest was eating a quesadilla with their hands. Finally we got her attention and she apologized. The food was okay but didn’t blow us away. We went the night of my birthday and we were looking for a good meal to celebrate and it was overall quite disappointing. To give them the benefit of the doubt, they had an hour left until close on a weekday. The waitresses just wanted to go home. The drinks were strong and weren’t that good. Not worth the hype."
"Despite the host stand at the top of the stairs when I visited early Saturday night there was no one there. I had to go down the two flights of stairs and wait to get a bartender’s attention before I could speak anyone. The only reason I was even able to get a seat at the bar was because I politely asked a bartender who was garnishing drinks how I was supposed to get seated. I ended up seat at was clearly the service well. However despite all that, the food and drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. Please rethink the initial impression on guest, during my time there I saw 4 groups walk out because of confusion"
"La Caverna is easily one of the most unique restaurants you'll find in NYC. It is designed to look like a cave and has a lively, but a the same time a very mellow and laid back vibe. I went on a Thursday for their bottomless margarita dinner option, which includes chips and salsa, an entree and unlimited margaritas for 75 minutes. The food was delicious and flavorful, and the drinks nice and strong. The margarita choices for the bottomless option were classic, passionfruit and strawberry, and a waitress was ready to refill your drink as soon as it got too low. Perfect spot for dinner with friends or a date, or hanging out after work."
"Went here for a friend’s birthday and it is such a cool vibe! We got there for dinner at 8:30 and it transitioned into a club at 10:30. DJ was playing great music and the margaritas were delicious. We got the pitchers for $80 and you get a decent amount out of each. Passion fruit was definitely the best one we had."
