He explained the procedure and time period for healing and monitored the after surgical progress on a weekly basis. "FIND A DIFFERENT PRACTICE WHO WILL TREAT YOU WITH DIGNITY. Atrocious first encounter with office staff drove me to leave the practice before my first visit. I will be reporting the interaction to Tricare/Medicaid. You can be the best doc in the world, but if you don’t take care of people, have compassion, and have bad office staff, you’re going to lose patients. I’m in the military and was working Night Shift the only day they could get me in. I forgot my intake paperwork at my initial visit which was at 3:15pm, so I sacrificed half my day’s sleep to be here. When I walked in, the two receptionists were both yelling and frantically running back and forth. The first walked up and said “Did you bring your paperwork?!” in a very demeaning tone. I told her I have it filled out but forgot it because I was off my normal schedule (explained I was in the military working Night Shift) and apologized, and offered to fill it out quickly because my medical history is short. She very rudely told me “No. He doesn’t have time for that, We’ll have to reschedule you. I reminded you and she reminded you,” (motioning to the other receptionist). Neither of them reminded me. Her tone of voice was scolding as if she was talking to a repetitively misbehaving and petulant child. If you can’t allow me 5 minutes extra of your time when I’ve driven half an hour to come see you, you’re not the kind of person I want providing my care. Dr. Rorick was in the hallway when they asked him, and he seemed annoyed and rushed too. I saw another elderly patient and his wife turned away for similar reasons. What I overheard in the conversation was that he forgot something, and the staff just turned him away, no questions asked. The two times they called and neither mentioned paperwork which was sent to me over a month ago - not that they should have had to, it was a genuine mistake on my part, it was filled out ready to go but I forgot to grab it on the way out (maybe consider a digital portal where you can fill out the paperwork online like most modern 21st century practices so this kind of thing doesn’t happen?). The inconvenience is not why I left. The WAY they talked to me was. It was not only unprofessional. It was disrespectful. Two days prior, they had called me mid day, waking me up from sleep, to tell me that they needed to move my appointment up by a day to accommodate the doctor’s schedule. They called me back the following day to say my appointment no longer needed to be moved and could stay the same day. The administrative staff does not have their stuff together, and doesn’t have the wherewithal to keep a professional face on when they’re dealing with patients just because they are stressed. I’d avoid this practice. It seems the patient load is too high for the doctor or staff to handle. Doesn’t matter the quality of care you could get here. Make the drive to Syracuse or find a different doc whose staff will respect you and treat you with kindness. If they don’t care enough to at least be kind and professional when delivering bad news, would you trust them to care or have your best interests in mind when cutting you open? There was no reason for either of these staff members to be this rude."
"Dr. Rorick and his staff are the best. I was diagnosed with a tarsal coalition and no one would want to fix the issue I was having. I went to Dr. Rorick's office for a second opinion and I am so glad I did. He diagnosed the problem in my foot and explained exactly what he would do to fix it and what to expect post surgery. My recovery was long and very painful. Coming to his office after surgery for follow ups, I got first class treatment. His treatment has helped me get a little bit of my life back. I could not recomend him and his staff enough to anyone having issues with their feet. Thank you again Dr. Rorick and staff!"
