"New patient here and had a great experience from the moment I walked in! The office staff were very sweet and professional. Of course there was a little bit of a wait but that is to be expected. The sono tech was very friendly and explained everything she was doing. The nurse that drew my blood was quick and I didn’t feel a thing! She took the time to explain the tests they will be sending the samples out for. Overall I have zero complaints!"
"My OB sent me here for my level II sono and a consult for previous high blood pressure. The front staff were okay-ish. They definitely aren’t on top of things. They do a “COVID/sickness screening” which is basically questions if you are feeling well or have any sick symptoms. It’s pointless because I have seen many sick patients and guests they allow to be seen anyway, exposing all their other patients. They have a sign that limits visitors but they still allow patients to bring upwards of 3+ people , taking up chairs making the actual pregnant patients stand. It’s run like an inner city free health clinic. The sonography I had was friendly and great. The RN however- frazzled, didn’t seem to know what was going on. They kept leaving me in rooms and making me wait. I was there for 4 hours. After they left me in a patient room for “intake questions” I overheard the RN and doctor having a (public in hall/door of my room) conversation about how they sent a patient to the hospital but the RN had marked one of the patients tests wrong. So, hearing that alone makes me question this practice. The RN then proceeded to try to take my blood pressure and say it was elevated, but she couldn’t hear it that well. She ignores the fact that she just stated it wasn’t a reliable reading and marks in my chart I’m hypertensive. Another RN comes in and takes my blood pressure and lo and behold it is fine. I then get sent to get blood drawn (why they couldn’t do that while they left me to rot in two different waiting rooms for over an hour is beyond me). The medical assistant drawing the blood asks me if I have to use the bathroom first. I say no, but then she goes on to say “well we need a urine sample”. Okay fine, then just tell me that, don’t play games and speak directly. I then get ushered into the doctor’s office. He was nice enough, but as I’m 35 he tells me I’m high risk as a “pregnancy of advanced age” . Which is what it is but he then goes on and on about being older and having pregnancy etc etc like I’m a 50 year old woman having a child. As far as the data I have seen, a minority of women have a child in their early to mid thirties so I felt this whole lecture was unnecessary. He then lectured me that I am at risk for preeclampsia for having hypertension previously, even though it has been managed/resolved. All of his “recommendations” (aside from unnecessary Amnio) are what my OB has already recommended, so I’m not sure why it was necessary to see a MFM specialist. He told me he wants me to follow up in a month to have my blood pressure (which again, has been FINE) taken. Which is pointless to go to specialist with something my doctor and I already do . Overall, aside from the sono, I feel like this entire visit was a waste of time and I question the care this facility provides."
"Everyone is so wonderful here! Except this one sono tech, is horrible! She a a very miserable women! I recently went for a scan due to have gestation diabetes, and while laying on the table, she smacked the table a few times. I didn’t know what she say saying or doing! She finally days, move closer! I say sure next time ask please I’m not a dog! Then she said look at your alien face baby! This is not the icing on the cake! I then go back to my regular doctor, for my leval two scan! Apparently when I went in for a quick scan at 18 week, this women did my anatomy scan with out once every going over anything! IF I KNEE THIS WAS A LEVAL TWO I WOULD HAVE MY HUSBAND THERE! Oh and this women mention during which was my regular scan, she said why is ur husband not here, I said he working. Please please speak up for self! Please ask about your scan! This miserable women, should not be a sono tech! She clearly doesn’t know how to speak to women! She is unhappy and really shouldn't be the one scanning someone during such a vulnerable and special time!"
"This office needs training in their Patient CARE APPROACH. From the front desk manager to "some" of the nurses and the lack of empathy majority of the staff lack within the Bayshore office it is truly sad. On one occasion I was running late to my appointment due to traffic from a car accident. I called ahead of time and informed the front desk that I would most likely be running between 10 and 15min. When I arrived the front desk manager informed her staff to inform me that they are going to allow me to come in this time but the next time they won't except me. Yet the next visit I had to wait over 40minutes to get seen due to them running behind on their schedule. This was my first time ever running late and she made me feel so uncomfortable and annoyed. As a patient with contributing high risk factors I would assume my patient care would be treated with more sensitivity instead of hostility. On another occasion and more recently I went for a stress test for my baby and my pressure was evaluated for the first time in my life let alone my pregnancy and I informed the nurses and Dr that I had anxiety before the appointment and maybe that can be a factor. One of the nurses that never speaks to me or even looks my way turns around and says why are you waiting to have the baby. I thought her comment was insensitive and rude as if I am a nuisance to continue coming to their office. I believe this office environment has many employees who are creating a very toxic environment, thus making it difficult for High RISK MOTHERS to have a successful pregnancy experience. This does not take away from the great experiences I have had with the sonographers, few nurses and Dr's I have had interactions with but something needs to be done to create a more positive environment for mothers."
"I DESPISE going into this office. The front staff is incredibly rude every time. This is my 2nd pregnancy and nothing has changed from 3 years ago. The SONO techs do not make you feel welcome or excited about something that should be so special. They don’t try to work with you and requests for more than 1 kind of SONO pic is denied and given some bs excuse as to why I received 7 copies of the same bad profile pic. This after you witnessed her taking 27 other pictures during the level 2 appointment. If you can avoid it, do yourself a favor and stay away. Not worth the aggravation and disappointment."
