"I've recently went to St Charles emergency room. I was seen by Dr swaby. What a brilliant doctor. I came in very sick he came in and spoke with me very educated doctor he basically diagnosed me and told me what the possibilities could be. He hit it right out of the park after the test came back he was dead on. Amazing doctor I wish I can have them for my full-time doctor he could teach many doctors how to take care of patients the right way. I also had the pleasure to meet. Internist doctor they work together. Another brilliant doctor. He knows to talk to his patients and help them name was Dr bonura I tip my hat to you guys great team I give you guys yeah man"
"NOT A SAFE HOSPITAL. EXTREMELY UNDER STAFFED!! Staff members are generally nice, but they are unable to help patients in timely fashion. LONG WAIT TIMES, either in the waiting room or to be seen inside when you get in. Learned from the nurses that the hospital cuts staff to save money. There's ONLY 1 doctor for the whole ER at night and on weekends. Some days, there are only 1 or 2 nurses as well. THAT'S NOT FAIR TO PATIENTS. Until they improve, I would not recommend or take my own family to this place."
"I was there for my son's elbow contusion around 6:30 pm until about 9 pm. During our visit it took approx. One hour to triage and registration. We were then taken inside to see the doctor. His elbow X-ray was taken. Our ED doctor was amiable and proactive, as well as the nurse who provided our medication was genuinely helpful and provided us with educational info in regards to his contusion. I’m glad we chose the right hospital at the time and had a pretty good experience overall."
"My husband and I came as directed by phone for monoclonal antibody treatment. We had previously tested positive earlier in the day at another facility, and were told we both needed this treatment. We are retired from the healthcare industry and understand Er wait times. The Er area is a dump. I gave two stars for the staff. They were excellent, we were treated courteously and professionally. Thank you healthcare workers! Facility needs huge improvement!"
"If I could give this hospital/ emergency room 0 stars I would. I work in the healthcare industry, and I am well aware that wait times have been excessively long due to these unprecedented times. However, I waited in this emergency room waiting room for 5 hours - 5 hours and still waiting. The only thing that was accomplished was insurance information/ paperwork. I haven’t always heard good things about this hospital, from colleagues and friends of mine. Honestly, I never thought I would need to come here and would have preferred to use Stonybrook. Unfortunately, a colleague of mine told me to come here because the “wait times for my reason for being here would not be long at all”. I have asked multiple employees about the wait time, and if they could tell me how much longer the wait would be and I was told by two different people “when we get a room”. I have seen NO ONE leave, and more patients coming in and being taken before me! If I’m not sick now, I almost feel like I will leave here sick. This waiting room is filthy, as well as the restrooms. Like I said, I am a healthcare worker and I work 12 hour shifts back to back and long days/ weeks but I make sure that I am sanitizing consistently everything no matter how busy it may get! After 5 hours, led to 9 hours and still not done! This will be the absolute last time I ever come here and I will NOT EVER recommend this hospital/ this ER to any of my friends, family or colleagues!"
