"Please someone. If you care about working minorities. CLOSE THIS PLACE DOWN. Today, I went in via an ambulance for shortness of breath, vomiting, a severe headache, dizziness and body pain. Yet I felt insignificant as a patient. The emts who picked me up were cold and didn’t offer to help me down the stairs. Then upon arrival I was told to sit in a tight chair. It was an hour before I was seen by a registered nurse who put me on an iv and gave me pain meds which didn’t make a difference (my pain was at a 10). Then on the mount sinai notes it, said I was seen by a Doctor named Sean Dhanraj, I WAS NOT. And a PA named Diana Podd, who I actually did speak to but she barely had anything to work off to give me a proper diagnosis because the emts didn’t do their jobs. I felt like I wasted my time. My visit was uncomfortable, distressing and LONG. To top it off, they didn’t even send my nausea medication to the right pharmacy. Honestly, it’s like this every visit. I don’t feel cared about as a person of color. It’s evident that the staff doesn’t care about the man who waited over 7 hours to be allowed to leave because he was waiting on someone to print discharge papers. In short, a nightmare. Go anywhere else if you truly feel like you need help."
"What a wonderful staff. Thank you all for such a good attention to me, care and professionalism."
"My granddaughter was seen in the ER on 4/13/24. She received care in a timely manner that allowed her some relief from constant pain.she was given a good workup, diagnosed, treated, and discharged. The staff was professional and thorough in explaining each procedure. Thank you"
"I came to this emergency room twice as a new mother with my baby. Both times i got very young doctors to care for him, which always concerns me because of the lack of first hand experience. But, my first experience here was great, my baby had croup with breathing difficulty and the doctor and nurse did a great job making us feel comfortable, at ease and provided proper care for our 11 month old baby, not more not less than was necessary at the time. Most importantly they made us and our baby feel comfortable. Hence the two stars. My review is for the second time we visited very early this past Sunday morning, because this experience left me with a horrible feeling and never wanting to come back here again. Once again i took my baby in with less of an urgent issue of having flu like symptoms, feeling uncomfortable, fever and breathing a bit more rapidly than usual (which i now understand is a normal symptom of having the flu). Nobody was doing anything urgently or rapidly.. took them an hour to even get to us. Which was fine… When the doctor finally came in she listened to my baby’s chest and checked his ear. She said one ear was red inside and he had a bit of congestion. My baby also had a fever. I just want to say that compared to my first experience here, this doctor made me feel extremely uncomfortable and uneasy. She then proceeded to come back and told me my baby needed a chest xray! I immediately got concerned and asked her why.. she told me because he is a bit congested… i said i do not want an unnecessary chest xray on my 11 month old baby and asked if this was absolutely necessary and asked her why it is necessary 3 times!! I also asked if this can wait .. or if we can do it the next day in case things get worse… she said no it cant wait.. it has to be done now… she made me feel scared and angry. I am one of those low toxin mamas who absolutely does not want unnecessary radiation or medication for myself or my baby. She gave me no clear answer why the chest xray was necessary or urgent. Besides that “he sounded congested” and it was obvious she was incompetent not being able to make a proper diagnosis using her stethoscope. I was furious for being fear mongered into xraying my baby (which he screamed thru)… and i had to stop the tech because he forgot to put the protection on my baby’s waist to protect his reproductive organs!! I literally told him he has to go back to put it on because i could see he forgot it!!! (Yes i read a book on this so i can protect my child). i knew in my heart and based on everything i read that this xray was completely unnecessary.. my baby did not have breathing difficulties and his oxygen level was 99%! He didnt even have a cough! She did not know what she was doing and the xray tech was way too overwhelmed to do his job properly… being a concerned parent early in the morning without sleep or a chance for a second opinion, with a doctor who has clearly no experience to make a viable judgement.. i reluctantly agreed but i was livid inside. She also told me i needed to give my baby antibiotics for his ear.. which was not true and i choose not to give it to him. My baby has no symptoms of an ear infection 2 days later nor is he sick anymore.. in fact he never touched his ear or gave me a reason to think he had one in the first place.. again completely unnecessary medication and overprescription. My baby had a virus. At the end of the visit i asked the doctor what to do next time my baby acts or breathes the same way. She said no need for an emergency room just take him to his standard pediatrician… then why on earth was that chest xray so necessary and so urgent?? I felt manipulated. Xray of course came back all clear. If u want incompetency.. and chance doctors without enough experience to make confident decisions by themselves.. this is ur place. I wish doctors listened to their patients and worked with their preferences.. this is exactly the type of doctor that i feel i need to protect myself and my family from."
"The Emergency room needs more Staff having people waiting 3/4 hours to be seen is horrible. The emergency room was over crowded the nurses looks stressed out. For a private well known hospital y’all need to do better. Hire more so people can get seen at a decent time frame. I do not recommend."
