"VERY DISTURBING EXPERIENCE. I had a very disturbing wellness visit with Dr.Martha Wesley on 2/2/23 apx.3 - 430pm. Bedside manner wise: she made me feel extremely uncomfortable like in an ogling manner throughout the entire visit. I have no clue what her sexual orientation is, however I do know what it feels like to be ogled. The short version of this truely traumatic experience: I- Dr.Wesley and her medical assistant should have stepped outside to allow me to undress, but both stayed inside the room while I changed. -I am unaware of if she thought I was young and wouldn't say anything but I felt uncomfortable - as she noted in an unprofessional manner that I looked young for my age. -During the check up, instead of asking me to unhook my pants myself, she started to unhook them for me, with which I moved her hand aside and did it myself! -When Dr.Wesley was leaving the room, Dr.Wesley knew I needed to place my pants and tights back on and placed a scale under the door to ensure it stayed open, I immediately closed the door behind me as people were walking by and I was still in my underwear! Just moments later, while I was still getting dressed she opened the door again - for no reason! And instead of apologizing, just stood there and stared at me and closed the door. Even if Dr.Wesley had come back in because she forgot something, she still needed to knock as all of my doctors have done in the past before entering an occupied room. I would like to reiterate that she came back for no reason! If this experience was not traumatic enough, I had to go get an echo test done in another room. Let me preface this by saying all medical professionals ask either on a form or vocally what your preference of doctor is, i.e, male or female. I walk into the room and there is a man in the room waiting to give me this exam. He informs me to take my bra and shirt off and put the gown on with the back open while he is still in the room. I was taken aback at this but still trying to keep my composure, as this is extremely unnerving, I asked for a woman to do this procedure. He then informs me that I have to schedule that. Because I have a tight work schedule and took this day off specifically for this doctor's appointment, I obliged and asked if he would step out of the room. He then refused and stated he would face the opposite way facing the monitor. I saw a screen next to me and I MYSELF pulled it out and opened it to undress. He informed me to be careful as he didn’t want it to topple over - this was the only thing he was concerned about, not my privacy obviously. At this point, I came out from behind the screen and this man informed me that I had the gown worn backwards and that the opening should be in the front. This was the breaking point for me, as this was absolutely inappropriate, I have to have a male medical “professional” place a stethoscope on and around my chest area and this doesn’t seem to be alarming in the least to him or anyone who works at this facility? I said ABSOLUTELY NOT, and said I would reschedule. As a male professional, speaking to a female patient, his only reply should have been “I understand”. As a note, I obviously will not be coming back. If I had rescheduled for another day, I would have needed to miss another day of work AND go to Queens because your highly unprofessional, unskilled, creepy employees/facility did not have access to a female medical professional?! Everyone at your facility needs to be retrained and Dr.Wesley as well as the male Echo test administrator needs to see the ramifications for their highly inappropriate behavior and conduct!! The way with which they handled me was very careless and seemed like common practice at this office, it is saddening and sickening. I have written, emailed and called office with no one reaching out. This was a truely traumatizing experience."
"See Dr. Wesley, she is always on point and professional. Doctors are good, but office staff needs work. Keep your wits about you and take notes. It's a business. They are in the business of making profits. They don't pick up the phone. Order tests that are not necessary in order to make a profit."
"I have been with Dr. J for many, many years, and is very satisfied with the care I received."
"Let me start by saying this is not related to the staff who are super helpful. Dr Jay makes no time for his patients to have a conversation. He spends a minute, at most 2 minutes before rushing off to see his next patient. And even when I tried asking a question, he still wasn’t interested. Maybe that’s all some people need but to have my primary doc just listen to my breathing and not wanting to have a conversation is unsatisfying for me. Strike 1, we’ll see what happens next time I am in the office"
"Dr Jay has been my primary physician for some time now. Dr Teplitz strongly recommended him. At first I was apprehensive in the change, but I must say. I am so glad I did. He's a little unconventional, but so on point. If you like living and your looking for s good Doctor with an exceptional staff, you won't find a better doctor, trust me. Give him a call and make an appointment at one of his three locations (I see him where it's convenient for me) you won't be sorry."
