"Came to NYC to visit family from Vegas and ended up here. I have history of heart issues, so I get around to ERs a lot. The waiting area was spic and span, gotta give them kudos for that. The number of guards was intense, which was curious, but okay. They check you in quite fast. When I mean check in, I mean tag and do first vitals. But they didn't do an EKG and they didn't IV me and grab blood like they do in Vegas, which had me confused. Those things are very important to catch after an event to see how serious the condition is. In heart attack, the hormones caused due to heart muscle damage deteriorate within 2 hours after the event. You MUST get blood sampled before 2 hours! The people in front of me said the same, that they had been there for over 4 hours, some 8, and were still just sitting. I hate to make this a comparison post, but seems if management reads these, this may be a wakeup for them. They could do much, much better. In Vegas, you can get stuck in the waiting area. No doubt. Post COVID, an ER waiting area four times the size of this one can be without seats, but they will still be running labs and bringing patients back for xrays and MRIs. The doctors will still visit you and start processes for you while you are in the waiting area because beds are never open.. You can have all systems checked and a green light given with meds and instructions to go in 2 to 10 hours, depending on the influx. Or have a annexed bed set up in the overflow area they made during COVID with a drip and ready to prep for emergency proceedure within minutes if intake tests you and sees you are in dire straights. You don't even need a bed in most cases. Beds get the system more money, however..? So here.. I am guessing their top priority is the cash and not the quantity of lives saved or made better.. They also had me pee in a cup, which I just put in a trashcan before going AMA 3 hours later. You want to take my pee before taking my blood or an EKG? ...Uh hu.. I just walked out after 2 hours and caught my flight home instead of rescheduling it. Logic was if I had to sit and wait here, I could sit in a plane and Uber to an ER when I landed, be in and done before they even got charts on me here. I had more done, even, when I had to go in to an ER down in Arkansas, which is embarassing for a NY hospital. Arkansas did better. Arkansas. My inlaws told me people die in the waiting area. Why?? Did these people not take a Hippocratic Oath? Or are they just that high caste group that got their medical for the prestige and not to save lives? What IS going on here?? I feel for you all, having this kind of healthcare in place in New York, no less. Vegas has better?? Overcrowded, drug infested, homeless saturated Vegas? For utter shame..."
"Worst experience ever… Arrived at emergency room at 10 pm and I wasn’t seen until 5 am the next morning. Many ppl before me were also waiting for hours. I don’t understand what’s the purpose of this emergency room. Ppl come in to this place in pain and they need urgent care. Upsetting beyond belief"
"This hospital does not even deserve a single star. We arrived at the hospital with my father because he had chest pain. After TWO hours he was finally seen by the triage nurse who said nothing about his condition just a simple wait and he’ll be called. We were in the waiting room for an additional FIVE hours and there were people who were there before us and hadn’t been called either. SEVEN hours later we decided to leave and go to another hospital nearby where he was taken in instantly. We will not be returning to flushing hospital."
""My recent experience at the flushing Hospital was disappointing and concerning. From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of disorganization and neglect. The facilities were unkempt, with a lack of cleanliness evident throughout., leading to long wait times and a distressing lack of attention to patient needs. Moreover, the communication between staff and patients was severely lacking, leaving me feeling isolated and confused about my treatment plan. Overall, my visit was an unpleasant and distressing experience that fell far below the expected standard of care." I felt unsafe and left without being treated .I didn’t even know hospital like this one still existed in the USA especially in New York."
"I am very thankful for the nurses and providers here in the ER. Thanks to them they were able to send proper tests and were able to diagnose the cause to my mother's pain. The nurses explained everything to my mother from medication she was receiving to what tests she would be getting. I honestly felt very bad at how disrespectful other patients were being towards the nurses. Thank you all for everything!"
