"Dr, Lopes helped restore my active life by successfully operating on my hernia. Amazing Doctor with an amazing staff."
"I had intussusception in 2019 where a colorectal surgeon corrected it. In 2020, there was intussusception again seen on a scan, mind you this is extremely rare in adults. I had my second surgery, October 2020 after roughly 6 hrs after finding my initial diagnosis. After going in the intussusception corrected itself, therefore luckily a much more minor surgery for me. I had intussusception 2 more times afterwards but both not leading into surgery thankfully. Today, I unfortunately landed myself back into the hospital where my Gastro Specialist told me to contact Dr Lopes, and so I did. After 3 hours of waiting for a call back, he spoke with the attending physician at the ER I am currently at and told her he suspects I am a drug addict. NEVER IN MY LIFE has a dr accused me of such a thing. Especially a doctor that literally has seen me ONCE and that was only to do ONE surgery. I STRONGLY advise to stay far away from this practice unless you want to be labeled a drug addict for advocating for yourself."
"I wanted to have my lap band removed, and sought out a bariatric surgeon to do it. There were many reasons why I chose James Lopes, including the fact that he took my insurance, but in any event I'm glad I chose him. Having a band removed is a more difficult surgery and recovery than putting one in. The inside parts healed well and quickly; the main incision took a few weeks and the skin around it was raw for a while from tape and band-aid removal. 4-5 weeks after the procedure it's all good.I saw him many times after the surgery and he always put me at ease, explained whatever I asked and took the time to make sure I was doing well. I hope I never need abdominal surgery again, but it's good to know he's there if I do."
