"I worked for Contact for 2 yrs starting in 2015 and in that time I was diagnosed with a major illness that required not one but two surgeries that forced me to go on temp disability. As an employee I built sick time while working and after returning to work I had to use this sick time because the treatment for my illness caused physical issues that required downtime. The management actively told me I could not use sick time I had accrued without a doctor's note. Mind you they knew damn well about how much these surgeries were costing me and still felt compelled to force me to spend more money. They used this as a reason to demote me from a role and eventually I left the company. The women in charge of the crisis intervention side of things are cruel and lack all empathy for their actual staff. They would blame everyone else for their own failings and then play favorites based on who was willing to deal with the most of their drama. They also pitted employees against one another for seemingly their own amusement. Working on a suicide hotline is hard enough, but to have people that are supposed to be understanding of mental health treat their staff with such disrespect was untenable for me personally. Stear clear of working for these people. Trust me when I say you will end up regretting it."
"Easy listening ears, no hassles."

"Contact does incredibly important work in our community, including its 24-hour helpline and being the 211 call center for Central New York."
