Modern Citi Group 733 3rd Avenue, Manhattan, New York 10017

"When I went looking for a contractor, I interviewed four different companies and Modern Citi group certainly looked like they could get the job done, but once I started working with them, it turned into an absolute disaster. What was supposed to be a five month job maximum turned into a solid year. None of their team knows how to measure anything properly. My bathroom was off half a foot everywhere, they were showing me renderings of a kitchen that had three extra feet before they finally realized that they had measured wrong. It took almost 3 months to do a standard 5 x 7 New York bathroom that they told me would take 4 to 6 weeks maximum. Anytime I came to check on work there was one guy. I can’t say enough bad things about this company. Most of the reviews that you read here are probably fake. I think that they have a lot of people posting reviews and I’ve actually seen on Instagram where they have employees commenting, and doing the standard social media marketing where you can’t trust or review. What are some of the other things that this company got wrong? They couldn’t install a door knob properly. They installed a shower door backwards. They had shelves that were falling off the wall. They measured kitchen cabinets wrong. The amount of times that they told me they would be finished and they just kept pushing and pushing and pushing and pushing out? it astounded me and I have taken five different houses and apartments down to the studs. This company is the worst company I have worked with and I have worked with people in three different states on remodeling jobs. What’s actually even better is that they did not wanna honor a punchlist. They didn’t want to fix their mistakes. And the only reason that they agreed to come back was because I would take reviews down. I also had to report them to the Better Business Bureau. They came back. They didn’t finish the work. It was wrong. I have a damaged floor. And I’m being told to take down my reviews because I said that I would take them down after they finished and the owner of the company in wording in an email that gave him more time to finish because he knew he wouldn’t be able to finish ha ha ha I can’t tell you , emphasis to just stay away from this company. They are so far in over their heads they don’t have good people in the time that I have worked with them. I have rolled through four different project managers. They fired the people that worked on my bathroom, they use super cheap materials. You will not be getting quality and I promise you that if you don’t purchase your own materials, you will end up with plastic stuff from Home Depot that will be fall Off your walls in five years. Just go somewhere else they don’t have a super high standard of quality they might be fast. They might be able to do what they want to do, but if you have specific needs, they can’t deliver them they can only do what they have already put into a box ."

"As an out-of town owner, I was seeking a contractor to handle every aspect of completely renovating my Manhattan apartment. After a couple of very poor experiences, I was referred to Modern Citi group. What an excellent choice it proved to be! Right from the beginning, I was impressed with their obvious expertise and use of technology. Ilya, Danill, and the rest of the team were extremely responsive, knowledgeable, and competent. I must specifically mention Anna, who was amazing. She kept me in the loop at all times; made many worthwhile suggestions; was seemingly available 24/7; and "held my hand" whenever necessary. She is the best!! Knowing that my primary residence is in Florida, they made things very easy for me by dealing with building management, sub-contractors, city agencies, etc.on my behalf. it should be noted that this company also has an office and operations in Florida. I will certainly contact this outstanding company the next time renovations are needed for my Florida home. Modern Citi Group certainly deserves all the accolades they have received from other very pleased customers. I only wish it was possible to give them a rating above "5"."

The team was responsive and helpful. Anna kept in touch with us every step of the way and provided guidance on design and layout, answered all our questions and overall she was a pleasure to work with. The construction team was very professional and respectful, the guys were all very nice and knowledgeable, tons of experience in the field. The walls were done impeccably, the wood floors came out perfect, and bathroom is like a real spa now. We are very happy with the final result! For the amount of work and support the team provided, the overall cost of the project seems to be very fair. I would definitely recommend using Modern Citi Group."

"Anyone who has done a renovation knows- finding a good contractor is hard. We had already fired one, and were having a difficult time getting reasonable quotes or finding a contractor who understood the vision when I got referred to Modern Citi Group. They were patient as we went through numerous revisions to the scope and design, provided beautiful “what you see is what you get” visualizations, and were able to start construction right away. Daniil and Anna were great to work with, and we loved the staff that did the build out. They took great pride in their work and had a beautiful attention to detail, and were always willing to learn along the way the specific needs of the bar.
