"Came down from Canada, and checked out this place while visiting in syacruse. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Best part was seeing a gold rc10L on the display shelf! (I can finally cross that off my bucket list of stuff to see). Great overall place!"
"Absolute horrible service. I have purchased many items from this store only because it is the only local store to be able to acquire the parts I need. I have never had a wonderful experience but this last one was horrific. The individual refused to help me, talked down on me for not knowing something and insulted me all with my young son with me. Never again. Thousands spent there. Try to spend local and this is what you get... better off online."
"Awesome place for all your modeling needs. The employees were extremely helpful."
"Bought the Horizon Hobby Ultra Slow Stick 1.2m airplane at Walt's Hobby in Syracuse NY, as they insisted it flew great. It was good, but you can't land this thing in any grass with out breaking the landing gear. It's a design flaw, where the carbon fiber struts cross in a X pattern. The one on the back works as a brace, and the one that is in front breaks over it right where they cross. When I showed it to the guys at Walt's, they at first agreed it was design flaw, but wouldn't do anything. So, I called Horizon customer service from the parking lot, and got no where. Walt's said there hands are tied as a Franchise, and they said themselves they are no longer a mom & pop shop. In other words, you will not be getting customer service on larger products from Walt's. Next time I will be buying through Amazon, at least you have 30 days on Amazon Prime for situations like this. I don't see any other way to protect yourself if you don't get what you paid for with these types of products. UPDATE; Yes, they offered replacement part. Good for one landing, as it is the part I've replace each time. One gentleman at Walt's helped by suggesting material to reinforce the weak point. I bought the material, but not sure it will work. It's just a bad design, and I just bought the plane. If they wanted to make it right all that needed to be done was at minimum offer store credit, or exchange for a different plane of same value. But no luck. I did call today to talk to owner, who wasn't in yesterday, and they said would be there today. I was told he won't be in this week, but I might catch him tomorrow. They are pleasant to talk with, and I hate seeing brick and mortar stores going away, but AMAZON has them beat. They just can't provide the customer people would expect today."
