"Cortland transit, where do I begin? Hire enough qualified drivers to have the routes running. Pay the drivers decent wages and not minimum wage. I know, I worked here, just long enough to get my license and leave, as most drivers do. Management needs to do a better job at keeping drivers, not delegate their work duties to other staff members. Notify the public of any disruption to services and make sure they are temporary, not permanent. If a route is canceled for the day have a website or other means of notification, not have the people call after they been waiting outside for a bus that's never coming."
"Rude and unprofessional! I watched a gentleman trying to get on the 5 bus without a mask. He offered to show vaccine card. The obnoxious female driver flipped him off, shut the door in his face , and drove away. What a horrible, evil person!"
"Cortland Transit is simply unacceptable. I am a student at a local college about 8 miles away. I rely on the bus to get to my classes. The first 5 weeks have not yet passed and because of the bus I've miss 6 days. For me that's 12 classes. They regularly arrive late to their stops (30 minutes late today) and sometimes do not even send out the busses they are supposed to. At one point last year, the driver for the route to the college made everyone get off of the bus at certain stops so he could count everyone and ensure they paid resulting in even more lateness. Public transportation is suppose to be reliable and effective, Cortland Transit is far from either of these, and it should be shutdown and replaced."
"Some people that work there ruin the reputation of others who do a great job. Overall my negative experiences are overshadowed by the lack of any other public transportation options. It makes me furious when their operator lies about the response of a bus driver I can hear in the background. I now have to wait almost three hours at tc3 while the school is closed."
"I take the route 6 back and forth to the college and there are constant issues with the buses. Theyre always late, stuff as many people as they can onto 1 bus knowing it doesnt fit everyone, and now we have to pick up the college suites making me late to my class 3 days a week. Some bus drivers are great drivers. There have been times as well when a bus has not been sent out at the time its supposed to, and came at the next time. Leaving people to wait another 2 hours before the next bus comes. Id rather walk or take a cab before the bus"
