"Beautiful park, a great way to see what Long Island may have been like hundreds of years ago. Pretty empty every time I've been there. Just a side note since another review mentioned ticks. Yes, there are a lot of ticks here. And everywhere on Long Island ;/"
"We got lost for a good hour and a half and I got about 4 tick bites. Our clothes were totally covered. I'll never go back I hope they pave over it."
"CAUTION: Part of this park might be a hunting reserve?? (Someone please clarify in a response!?) OTHERWISE: Beautiful park with lots of trails for mountain biking and hiking. It looks like the entrance I used to get into the park (Toppings Path) is also an “off-road road” entrance for a hunting area?? I was super confused when I encountered signs demarcating hunting grounds! Maybe someone can clarify in a response — is this park a hunting preserve? Or is part of it reserved for hunting? Other areas are definitely for hiking and suitable for foot traffic."
"Lots of trails through the Pine Barrens there are no views but then again we're not on a Mountaintop so the hiking does get a little boring but you'll be entertained if you don't have tick spray."
"Went on a great 7 mile hike through the Eastern part. Didn't realize that that there was such a large unspoiled area anywhere on the Island. Our hike leaders, Leland and George, pointed out amazing vantage points and facts as we bushwhacked up the hills. Do watch out for ticks!"
