"Well, what can I say arrived at the train station to find out that buses are being substituted. No problem, but met by a very rude agent that wanted nothing to do with listening to my request of looking up the standard bus schedule to Babylon as opposed to her Transport buses that would arrive 45 minutes later. She was located at the Patchogue branch at roughly 11 o’clock and if I could give her negative for being rude and not being able to convey any public transportation information I would."
"I have lived in Patchogue most of my life, I think that it is good to revitalize but bad to overpopulate! All of my childhood memories have been torn down, demolished, built over or turned into "affordable. housing" (who has $3k to $6k for monthly rent?!?That is more than twice what my retirement is!!!) I was forced to move away yet again!! I do not know anyone in town anymore, almost all of the new restaurants went cashless which is No good for me! I pay in cash. All of the security guards at the local restaurants all work for the same company and if you screw up, you might as well leave Patchogue... The Security guards also beat you up in their after hours. They select a bar, wait for you to come out groggy and they attack you in your car before you can call for help by police. Most of the time they gang up on you and bully you to prevent you from going to any bars. I was attacked at the traffic light in front of the Post Office in 2003 by the Security Guards from the Brickhouse Brewery. I was in Military Uniform when I was attacked and left for dead back when the Clifton was called the Cornerstone. I think their names were Bornshine that worked at the Brickhouse Brewery? Patchogue Security Guards are no joke! They will hit you with batons and sap gloves regardless of who you are and where you come from. Patchogue is mostly a fun town until you get marked and the Village tries to get rid of you by posting Police COPE units on you or Unmarked Police cars."
"Waiting room closes very early, which makes no sense considering how late the train runs (5:00 am) and there’s not even any benches to sit at on or near the tracks. Lots of druggies late at night, and lots of big roaches. No public restroom available after waiting room closes, and for some reason the ticket booth stopped taking debit card, which is very inconvenient since I don’t carry cash and I have no credit card. People WILL ask you for sex or money for drugs if you are alone at night."
"I once lived here. The town has greatly improved and so is the cost of living over the past thirty years. Main Street has been revitalized and so has the cost of products and services. This was a working class village which is now far more diversified. Low income housing has been virtually eliminated or it has gone "underground"."
"Parking IS free! I’m not local and found this train station excellent and interesting. Lots of people going and coming from work, but also met people out for a good time . I was headed to JFK. Just wish the LIRR made the directions easier to understand. WHO knows names of train stations? Good experience!"
