"The bartender, Julian, was extremely rude to us during our visit. He consistently called my girlfriend "doll" and was very aggressive. We ordered food and I ate a few bites of the remainder of a donut I had. Nobody had any issue with the donut, except Julian applied an automatic 6+ group gratuity to the bill without telling us, despite there only being 3 in my party. When I asked about this, Julian said it was for the couple bites of the donut I ate. We asked him to remove the group gratuity and left him with a 15% tip, despite the awful service we received. He then proceed to follow us outside the building and yelled at us for only leaving a 15% tip. I will NEVER go back."
"I visited this place on Friday night 07/13 with my girlfriend, who was visiting from out of town. The place was almost empty, with only two tables occupied and an empty bar. We chose to sit at the bar, where the bartender, Julian, was extremely unwelcoming and impolite. He was harsh and clearly unhappy to be there. My friend is a big executive in the hospitality sector, and I was hoping to make this a pleasant experience for her, but it was certainly far from that."
"Cedar Local is a nice little cocktail bar that is ~medium-sized for a New York bar (decent small tables, high tops, and one area with a long high top for a larger party. The drinks are good and there is a diverse menu. It is not too loud so you can have a conversation. Worth a visit if you’re looking for a chill drink with friends downtown."
"Cute vibe in there. Decorated for the holidays very nicely. The only downfall was that the music was a bit loud, but it was a great playlist. Also, it got VERY dark at one point when the lights were turned down..we had to move the little candle around to see our food. But the food was amazing and had so much flavor. So were the drinks. Definitely would revisit."
"It’s a great spot to catch a drink and a bite after work. Came here because Google Maps said it was a great happy hour spot. That’s no longer the case. The only deal is from 3-5: get a free Cedar Lager ($9 normally) with a purchase of bite or plate of food. Food was good but expensive (chicken dumplings $19) and the beer was really underwhelming. Don’t come here for the happy hour specifically. Come for a nice swanky spot to get a drink"
