"I have been to the Raines Law Room inside The William on several occasions, and I was excited to try out this more relaxed environment. Our group's reservation placed us in a booth right next to the bar. Although we had some privacy, we had to rely on the bartender to take our orders. Even though the bar was located below the speakeasy, it was just a regular bar with cocktails on the pricey side. I suggest getting the beer and food instead. The salmon burger, regular burger, grilled cheese, and shepherd's pies were all delicious."

"Stumbled across this spot and stopped on for drinks. We loved the environment and met Memo the bartender and had a great time. They are also the only bar in the city to serve my scotch in a Glencairn glass, THANK YOU Memo! Good times"

"This was surprisingly DELICIOUS! A restaurant hidden in the basement of a hotel. A real British speakeasy. Dark and broody but somehow familiar and homey. The food was tasty and well seasoned. I ordered Bangers and Mash. The sausages were no joke. Very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were excellent and the gravy was perfectly cooked and delicious. The scotch egg is served warm and very savory. Wow! My only issue is the serving size for the coke is small and over priced."

"A friend was craving bangers and mash and had done a ton of research on where to find the best in the city. He mentioned The Shakespeare and I had never heard of it. The next day to walked up for a quick lunch and a pint (I don’t do that often but once and a wile I feel is fine ). I was met by a friendly bartender and a cozy room. The beer menu has lots of authentic British beers and some fun craft ones as well. We talked beer and distribution of beer as if we were old friends. The food menu offers the classics and I ordered the Fish and Chips. I wanted shepherds pie but it was 92 degrees outside so saved that for another time. Food was delicious, almost artisanal in presentation. Fries are real potatoes and came with a bright tartar sauce, a bottle of malt vinegar and one of HP (classic). All in I would say this is my new pub, and it should be yours. See you there."
