"Okay so I had a bad experience here when my daughters were little. I have twin daughters can I order each girl a small and pretty cookie. The owner of the pastry shop gave me one cookie that was whole and one that was broken in half actually in several pieces. I mentioned to him can I please have a whole cookie for my other daughter because I can't give one daughter the nice cookie and the other one the cookie that was in pieces. By the way I had paid for both the cookies .So the owner as a result throw a fit and threw one of the cookies across the bakery and into a wall. I was shocked. Didn't ask for my money back and rushed out with my daughters. Well its been several years and I decided to give the place another shot. Same kind of terrible tension filled experience, this time I had a rude lady. I ordered some bread, she was stone faced and abrupt. I asked for some water because I felt a little light headed and she refused to give it to me. When I got home I noticed the bread was not the bread I ordered but a different bread and was green with mold on the bottom. I'm not going to return it, too much tension, this women is not human. I can't deal with this lady. How can people treat their customers that way and stay in business Never again!"
"I was scoffed at and ridiculed for simply asking if the pastries were fresh. I was the first customer and the pasties were for a work function. I ended up leaving and would never return. I believe the owner feels entitled as they have been at this location many years. They have forgotten “the customer is always right”."
"Ordered a cake for my sons baptism. When I ordered the woman was very pleasant. Price was good. I was happy. The day I picked it up, the writing and decor on the cake was horrible. I asked for the lettering to be corrected and evened out (because it was lopsided) and proceeded to get scoffed at and ridiculed for daring to ask that the cake look pretty, that they are the best pastry shop around and it’s about the flavor not the look. And then one of the ladies said, “ you know he could drop the cake going back down the stairs and then you’ll have no cake.” I hadn’t paid yet and I reminded her that I could also walk out without the cake and spend my money somewhere else. The man who made the cake fixed the lettering with a tiny bit more care, but it was still a lack luster for a cake that just said God Bless and my sons name. The cross…literally just two lines. My family did enjoy the flavor, but I would never return to to experience such rude customer service. Never had a worse experience ordering a cake in my life."
"The decor of Bonelle Pastry Shop is humble and narrow-spaced. They serve a great variety of pastries, desserts and cookies freshly with reasonable price. We got their almond croissant and marble pound cake. It’s was decent but without the delicate flavor. The texture of croissant was soft with no layers, not my type but my husband loves it. The marble pound cake was in great balance of chocolate & vanilla and not too sweet. It’s not the best bakery but definitely a bakery that reminds people of the neighborhood of Forest Hills. However, they take cash only and we were concerned about this during the pandemic."
