"I often come into the Grill to pick up lunch or breakfast. Or a drink. Everyone is very friendly and kind. Everyone from those working the counter to the chef Oscar to the owner Ana are eager to listen and help accommodate special orders. The place is clean and I can see the kitchen is clean from the ordering counter. Some places hide their kitchen or food prep areas. The Grill does not: they have nothing to hide. Recently I had them cater a huge lunch I had at a nearby school where I help to teach classes and seminars in English, Spanish, Hindi, Tagalog and American Sign Language. This was a big order to feed about 200 students and teachers. I discussed with Ana and Oscar and both helped me refine my order and suggested substitutions that I hadn’t thought of and that worked really well. When the pickup time came (our location is a few doors away) everything was ready to go and really high quality and prepared perfectly. I had a team with me to pick things up and ferry them back, but Oscar had already organized things and walked part of the order over for us. Very impressive. I do not have stock or stake in the Heights Grill. I have not been asked to make this review. But I am a business owner myself and I want to help local businesses do well. We should all cooperate to do that, if we can. And I like the Heights Grill. I like the people there. My students love the place. It’s a welcoming place for real people. I like that it’s multi-lingual. I like that I can go in grab a bite and sit down. Ana might walk by and say hi, or even sit down with me and talk a bit. Or, I might be busy with a student I’m helping with homework over coffee, I’ve never been pressured to hurry up and leave. I like that about the Grill. It’s an easy going place with good food for a good price. I like our neighborhood. I like that Ana and Oscar and all working at the Grill are helping to build a community place in our community. They know peoples’ names. They know and anticipate what “regulars” like and want. And as I wrote above, they can handle BIG orders too. Big or small, the food has always been good. It’s a good clean, welcoming place. UPDATE: 5 years (and a pandemic) later and the Heights Grill is still here providing great food at great prices in a welcoming space!"

"Ordered online. My pupusa were burnt and salty. The container used cause them to get soggy. The arepa was not stuffed as ordered. I got pony Malta not Goya as indicated on the menu. Horrible breakfast had to throw everything away. Never again"

"So far all I’ve tried are the beef empanadas and the chicken soup. Both delicious and the server was lovely. Definitely going back to try more of the menu btw the prices are fantastic."

"I do not know what happened to this establishment. I used to buy breakfast here weekly basis literally just two weeks ago and it was top notch! but there is a new owner or a new cook or something and they cannot cook for dear life. Pancakes were thin and tough, bacon half cooked, and the home fries were not cooked properly with no flavor and in huge chunks. The toast was the the last straw. It was just regular slice bread not even slightly toasted. I could have just grabbed a slice bread from my pantry with butter. Please bring back the previous cook!!! I hate to leave negative reviews on a location that is my absolute favorite but they will lose customers with this new cook. AN UPDATE TO RESPONSE TO OWNER: This is the daughter posting this review. I did try to call your establishment but I assume like was busy because no one answered. Unfortunately I was unable to go in person due to an appointment that had to be met. I understand this is your establishment but clearly the food was cooked differently. Simply just stating my experience which, for the very first time, unsatisfactory."
