"High reviews drew me across town to try the banh mi sandwich. The pork and accompanying fillings were quite tasty. However the bread spoiled everything. A good banh mi must be on a crispy baguette with some of the insides scooped out to make room for fillings. This crispy/crunchy ‘mouth-feel’ is absolutely essential for banh mi. However Saiguette uses hoagie bread, marshmallow-soft and voluminous, like you can find at Vinnie’s bodega. Too bad, this completely ruined what otherwise would have been a good sandwich."
"This might be the best restaurant in NYC. The food is incredible. My go to is the chicken thigh sandwich and pork bao but having had the entire menu at some point, I can confidently say this is one of the best places to eat in the city. Their delivery range is pretty far (and food delivers well for the most part) but it is worth the venture uptown to try."
"Best banh mi I’ve had in NYC by far. The lemongrass pork is the thing to get here. I just finished my sandwich and I already want another one. Interesting that they use pickled jalapeño instead of fresh. My friend fed some of his bread to a duck and he said that the sriracha mayo was still on it and that the duck found it spicy which is why it went to the water after not for any other reason. All these are photos of the same sandwich. I just really liked it."
"Roast pork sandwich lunch special is so worth it. The portions are so large no joke and the meat is so plentiful, along with the cilantro pickled carrots and jalapeños and sauce is great. The taro chips was interesting to see on the menu but nothing craZy. 10/10 banh mi"
"Saiguette offers Laska in their menu. I had not seen many Asian restaurants offered Laska, so I was excited to try this place. I ordered shrimp Laska, lemongrass pork sandwich, and beef pho. Those were classics that I like. The beef pho was as good as I expected. The pork sandwich was great, next time I would like no jalapeños. The noodle in the shrimp Laska was not what I expected, but at least I got to try Laska. Happy!"
