"HONEST REVIEW GUYS…. My son loves sushi, like loves it! So I am always looking for new places to try with him. Found this one while googling. At first I was like ughhhh Central Avenue… (I was right, ughhhh) Kura Sushi happens to be right next door to the brand new Chic-fil-a (wasn’t aware) that had 3 squad cop cars managing the parking area and the amount of people. ( this was a saturday night 6:30). we added our name to the outdoor computer which stated a 25 minute wait time… Not bad, WE WAITED AN HOUR!!! I know, trust me I wanted to leave too, but after a certain period of time you just stay for the long haul, 2nd up on the table list… the food all comes out conveyer belt style & drinks to you by robot… the quality is not the best, but the concept is cool. my son loved it!!! after you finish your plate (2 pieces per plate) at $3.95 you insert the dish right into your table you’re sitting at & it keeps count.. after 15 plates you get an anime ball. overall my son loved it, so goal achieved!"
"Unbelievably disappointed in many of the sushi especially the uni. As seen the picture, it looked like they literally put the scraps of uni. To think it's alright to charge $3.95 for each uni is a joke, let alone the chef think it's alright to serve it. The beef bowl was actually a rice bowl with 4 strands for beef, most of which was just fat. There was more scallion than beef. The spicy salmon and tuna crispy rice tasted old and the fish was scarce. To say these were overpriced is an understatement. The steak was too chewy and tough. I will say that the scallop, snow crab, and tuna belly were quite good and a large size. A disappointing dinner for a family member's birthday. Will definitely not be going back"
"WARNING! THIS IS NOT A NOVELTY MALL STYLE SUSHI PLACE! This is absolutely what you would experience if you went to Japan. I simply couldn’t believe the quality and taste of the food from the steak dishes to the salmon skin rolls. Once you try their take on dumplings and even fried rice you’ll see how other sushi places have “ Americanized” Japanese cuisine. All I could say is that you absolutely positively must must must try this place. Don’t worry about the line. Just enter your phone number and then go to ShopRite and walk around and wait the 25 to 40 minutes that it usually takes to get a seat, it is worth every second of waiting time."
"It was my first time try and it was so great! I enjoyed their fresh sushi and their system was easy and convenient. You can order specific menu on the screen and it delivers on your spot when it is ready. Also it seemed like sushi and rolls were all same price(3.95$) each plate, except for other special dishes and desserts. They also have rewards so you can use it when you have coupons. It was a very fun experience and I’d love to go back soon! Maybe takeout too!"
"Excited for first conveyor belt sushi place in Scarsdale and this place did not disappoint. Upon seating, the staff thoroughly explain to us how it works (ordering, plate system, price) and even do a practice of how to pick up a dish from conveyor belt with us. Food and drink came out quick (even special order ones) and were of good quality especially for the price paid. From host to waiter, despite how busy the restaurant was, someone always stop by periodically to ensure we have what we need and offer refills without asking (all soft drinks are unlimited refill). We also get to meet the manager, Nikita, who stopped by random table and was a delight to interact with. We ate about 14 plates inclusive of regular sushi, special order, drinks, and desserts with our bill of ~ $80 with tax which is reasonable. Next time will try to win a special prize though note that special hot order and dessert does not count towards quota (only white dish with blue print counts). Only room for improvement is wait system can be more accurate. We expected long wait since it is first day of soft opening but after system told us that we have 15 minutes left and we rushed back, we still had to wait more than half an hour which makes our wait about 1 hour total after putting our name down. Pros is once you put your name down, you can go do other errands in the complex like grocery run which made our wait didn’t seem that long. Make sure you come way before you are hungry especially during peak time!"
