"DON'T BUY APPLIANCES HERE! Despite the fact that my husband and I have spent so much money at this store, they wouldn't let us return an item that THEIR driver opened. After purchasing our first home we wanted to support a local business when it came to appliance shopping. We researched local appliance stores and ultimately purchased a $3K Miele washer/dryer, a $10K Bertazzoni induction range, and a $3K Fisher Paykel fridge from Plesser's in Southampton. Our first purchase was great, no issues. When it came time to purchase our new Miele dishwasher and small bar fridge, we of course wanted to shop with Plesser's again. We worked with Emily to place our order. The day our appliances arrived, the delivery driver offered to unpack the fridge, to which my husband said sure. The driver did not unpack the dishwasher. Later that night, my husband realized we had ordered the wrong size bar fridge. We emailed Emily to ask to return the bar fridge and place an order for a new one. We were told that because the bar fridge was opened, they were unable to take it back, because their return policy is that all opened boxes are not returnable. We asked if they could make an exception because a.) we've spent so much money with them in the past and we were loyal customers at that point and b.) the driver unpacked it for us and at no point did he say that by unpacking it, it would essentially render the item un-returnable. Emily said no, they weren't taking it back. We also asked to speak to a manager, and from then on were ignored completely. I still can't believe that they wouldn't let us exchange this bar fridge for another one. We were clearly repeat customers, and we were even willing to return it for the 30% restocking fee they take for still boxed items (which is also crazy!). We will never be shopping at Plesser's again due to their terrible return policy, and frankly, their non-existent customer service. So much for shopping local. Buyer beware!"
