"PNC IS WACK. They have terrible policies and make getting your own money a hassle. A 500 dollar withdrawal limit without the possibility of increasing without fees etc is ridiculous. I'll be switching banks and I've been with PNC for over 10 years"
"I did an auto loan through PNC, who I have been an extremely fiscally responsible client with for well over a decade. I had never bought a vehicle out of a lease, so I made it clear I was not familiar with the process. The loan officer failed to inform me of any associated costs or responsibilities with taking the loan out. I was told the bank takes care of everything from there. After the loan was signed and approved, I received a packet in the mail informing me that I had to transfer the title myself. I then found out that the $2,100 fee for sales tax and processing was hung around my neck. I opened a case with the bank, and it was no use. I either have to take a personal loan out or pay up front. They wouldn't let me add the cost to my existing loan. Point of the story is absolutely MAKE SURE the loan officer reads you the fine print and makes sure you are abundantly aware of what the associated costs are when taking a loan out with PNC or any corporate bank. When these things happen, the bank will extend 0 mercy to you, even during these hard economic times. $2,100 is a really hard pill to swallow in 2023."
"I went into this location because I had previously been contacted by PNC’s loss prevention about fraudulent charges on my debit card but the person working there seemed to have no idea what he was doing and just wasted my time and left me with a negative account balance and overdraft fees. The day before I had gone to a different PNC branch where they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the issue. They issued me a new debit card, went through and filed disputes on the fraud transactions, and gave me a provisional credit in my account to cover the money which had been lost. There were additional charges still pending which they said I would have to follow up on the next day. I went to this location the next day to follow up on these charges because it was closer to my home. I explained what had happened to the person working there as best I could and I expected it would be simple to follow up on considering someone else had done it the day before in 5 minutes. Instead I got to stand around for over 10 minutes while he silently worked on his computer, never telling me anything about what he was doing or asking me any additional questions before he finally said he was finished. He said he was unable to file additional disputes because the new charges “had the same name” as the ones that had already been disputed and I would need to wait for them to be resolved before following up on them, a process which had been explained to me the day before could take up to 90 days. When I then asked if there was some way he could give me some sort of credit or other way to get my account out of the negative balance that was causing me to get hit by multiple overdraft fees he said he’d given me a credit (when I checked my account balance later it was $17 out of the hundreds of dollars of charges). Realizing I was not going to get anywhere trying to talk further with him I left. Once I got home I called PNC’s customer service number to see if there was anything else that could be done and again, the person on the phone was incredibly helpful and in a few minutes was able to file disputes for all of the remaining charges and also issue me refunds for all of the overdraft fees. Apparently the employee at this location was either lying to me or just had no idea how to do their job when they told me they couldn’t 15 minutes earlier."
"Everybody is quite friendly and knowledgeable. They care about the people who come into their branch. A few weeks ago I was making a sizable withdrawal and the teller asked me questions to see that I wasn’t being taken advantage of. I appreciate her looking out for me."
"I have been using pnc since I was 16. Today at this branch a teller gave me a hard time cashing my friends pnc check that I cashed 2 weeks ago, and 2 weeks before that and basically biweekly for almost 2 years, over the ID having a different address. It was fine up til this point. So the branch manager comes out and won't approve it even tho it's been approved 50 times before. She stupidly informed me that they may make exceptions sometimes basically if they know the person. So disappointed. She should be fired."
