Since assuming operations of the City of Erie's water system on January 1st, 1992, Erie Water Works has strived to provide top-quality water services at an affordable cost. The organization’s mission is to ensure the community has access to clean and safe water, while continually upgrading and maintaining the infrastructure to meet future demands.

Achievements:

Erie Water Works has been recognized for innovation and excellence. Notably, Ernie Fitting earned 3rd place in the AWWA Opflow Gadgets and Gimmicks competition in September 2024. This accolade highlights the organization's commitment to advancing water management technologies and practices.

Community Involvement:

Erie Water Works is deeply integrated into the Erie community. For example, the Distribution crew recently replaced three 6” valves at the intersection of W 12th Street and Selinger Avenue, a project completed during nighttime hours to minimize disruption.
